I'm wondering if I should get the Xbox 360 Arcade or the Xbox 360 Pro. The deciding factor for me is the DLC. I heard that the Arcade doesn't come with a hard-drive and without a hard-drive you can't download DLC. Also, I heard that in order to hook up a 360 to LIVE you have to have an Ethernet cord (For a wired connection of course). The Pro comes with both an Ethernet cord and a hard-drive, so if both of those earlier statements are true then I will buy the Pro. Are they true?

Also, about how much hard-drive space does it take to download the average DLC? Because I heard that the Pro comes in either 20 or 60 GB forms for the hard-drive, and if it takes a lot of GB for a single DLC I'll probably buy the 60 GB version.

All help is appreciated.

Some DLC are big, some aren't. Most are around the 300mb-1gb region. A lot of them are below 150 mb, though. I'd get the pro, because it comes with all the stuff you need.

I actually recommend getting an elite. They come with everything you need plus they are near invincible. I have had mine for ages and i have never had a problem with it.

Actually I think the Pros and Arcades are a hardware gen ahead of the Elites now, much less likely to RRoD. That being said I've had two Elites, neither one ever had a hardware problem. Though the post NXE update did break HDMI+ Optical Audio... grumble... stupid lack of 5.1... But it sounds like the next update should hopefully fix that!

But anyway, yeah, OP, go for the Pro, or if your think your going to do a lot of downloading you should consider an Elite. If you take advantage of the installing games to harddrive feature of the 360 the 60GB Pro fills up rather fast, not to mention if you like keeping demos around on system. And soon they're going to unleash Games on Demand, which will let you buy full length 360 on Live, each of those, like the install to HDD option, will likely take up 4-9GB each game. Not to mention if you plan on picking up any HD movies or TV shows.

If you're not in a hurry, watch Slickdeals.net for a deal from Dell, they have really good deals on 360s about every 3 or 4 months. If they're on schedule one should be coming in the next month too, I got both my Elites off of there for about $300 a piece with 2 games, and that was way back when they went for $450 easy.

Side Note: I bought two Elites because the first one got stolen T_T

It all comes down to price really. The ethernet cord required isn't anything special. You probably have an extra one laying around, if not they should be relatively cheap. I would just look at the price of the console + the price of a 60 or 120 gb hdd and compare it to the Elite. Also check for bundles. It might make it worth your while to get the elite if they come bundled with games you like. Although it isn't worth paying extra for games you don't like or want.

Really, the only thing I'm going to be using it for is for downloading DLC for games. Maybe I'll download a few demo's every once in a while but I would definitely delete them after I'm through with them.
Also, thanks for the suggestion about Slickdeals.net. I'm gonna check them out.
