Ya know how at the beginning of every section of a Drizzt Do'Urden book, R.A. Salvatore writes a little excerpt from what could be Drizzt's journal or something? I want all of those excerpts compiled into one book, and It would be one of my favorite collections ever.

...Okay.

Personally I'm more of a fan of his Highwayman series.

The Drizzt stuff, while well written (...for the most part. Read the first chapter of the first book of the crystal shard series; It's kind of... weird) I find not as interesting, mostly because of the titular character being uninteresting. Yeah, he's better than most of the "I come from a stereotypically evil race that are evil for some inadequetely explained reason but I'm actually a really good guy but prejudice and stuff and life is so hard you guys" characters you see, but there's only so much you can do with that and I think the character has worn out his welcome a little.

That said, it's still an ejoyable read, of course.

I actually found that Entreri guy to be more interesting (yes, still a somewhat stock character, but better done, I think), and in fact I enjoyed his novels more than the sort of 'main series' stuff.

Now watch me get flamed for saying something positive about the Drizzt series.
