RAGE 2 going to be better open world game than RDR2?

Hello friends,

As someone who wanted RDR2 on PC, i can say if it was not for rockstar it wouldnot be getting 10 out of 10 that is highly overrated.

Rage 2 from what i have seen doesnot looks like best thing ever or anywhere near 10/10 but looks like it will be better open world game than RDR2. mainly because of better shooting and better controls no surprise id software gunplay is spectacular and its FPS so definitely better control too.

apart from story, everything else in Rage 2 looks and sound much better. the amazing gunplay that lack in RDR2, the car combat battle that looks amazing, multiple enemy types and multiple wasteland location.

again im not bashing on RDR2. original RDR was to me best open world game by rockstar easily. but was also overrated. imo it was 7/10 good game. and thats what im expecting RDR2 too. a good game or perhaps great.

Rage 1 and 2 are complete different games. Rage 2 is definitely looking better in every way.

Yeah, I'll go with no... Rage 2 will not be recalled by future generations for its story, I think we can all agree there. With a crap story (cos by comparison with RDR2, it will be crap), what's the point of having an open world at all? You're better off comparing it to Just Cause 4 when it comes out, not RDR2...

I'm going to safely say that Rage 2 is just going to end up being Far Cry.

Go here, kill some dudes, go there, get quest, go over there, kill more dudes.

And I can guarantee it won't have the attention to detail that RDR2 does in its open world.

Rage 2 will probably be a better shooter (but even that's debatable because their different kinds of shooters, so I don't know why one needs to be better than the other), because like The Rogue Wolf said, it was made around that almost exclusively.

I'm not saying Rage 2 will be bad either. But it certainly won't be a better open world game.

In my specific case, relating RDRed2 and Rage 2 is surprisingly apt. I never played RDRed, because it was console specific and when it came out I didn't have a PS3. So consequently being someone who won't join a franchise mid-way through... I didn't buy RDRed2 and haven't played it. Rage got pretty lousy word of mouth and reviews at release, so I didn't bother until it was on sale for $5. And that's probably the amount of enjoyment I got out of it. So treating it the same as I did the 2nd and 3rd games in the Red Dead franchise (does nobody acknowledge Red Dead Revolver?)... I'll probably buy Rage 2 when its on sale, and probably get my money's worth in the purchase.

You're trying to compare apples with oranges again fella, like in your Doom Infinite vs Metro Exodus thread. Rage and Red Dead are two franchises with totally different feels and focuses, you just can't compare the two. Rage is a Mad Max-inspired FPS subtly exploring the human psyche that gives you a damn big gun and lets you go at it, and Red Dead is a story driven morality-focused roleplaying game. They will both attract different audiences, and both playerbases will be equally happy with their purchases for entirely different reasons.

rockstar only make good presentations. otherwise gameplaywise they make most boring games ever. entire GTA series is very overrated and boring and I couldnot complete any of em.

avalanche made just cause 2 that was single best third person open world game ever. both Just cause 4 and Rage 2 looks leaps and bound better and more fun than anything rockstar has ever done.

You're making the same threads to respond to the same people with the same tired "arguments" and excuses.

Everyone on this website already knows you don't like Rockstar games, and you use hyperbole to reinforce those views by saying they're just 100% boring and overrated and that's how everyone else should feel, and you simply can't fathom why the games are so damn popular.

Look, Rockstar games just aren't for you, pal. And Rockstar has little reason to change that. They have no reason to pander to you because they're obscenely successful making the games they are now. They have a huge fanbase that already love how their games play and feel, and it's obvious that you don't. You don't need to make more threads comparing their games to other games.

It's been awhile since you've offered any discussion or insight into why you think any two games need to be compared. In fact I'd argue you never have, you just hope everyone else here will for you, which I could excuse for a couple threads, but come on man, this is getting tired.

I love FPS games too, but seriously you rarely offer any genuine discussion because they always start with "Tell me why this game I like is better than this game that everyone else likes." You're not even asking for perspective on these topics, you really are just fishing for agreement or for a chance to tell everyone else how overrated all non-fps video games are.

I hate rockstar games because they only create a great world and animation but gameplaywise fall flat and not fun at all. rockstar has talent. Max payne 3 is best rockstar game ever when it comes to core gameplay elements. but they decide not to use this talent and release same done to death open world formula.

what they do after RDR2 is they can make excellent Max Payne 4 but they will not. they will make bully 2 then GTA6.

I liked RDR1 but it was just 7/10 game. not OMG amazing. there was too much flaws. especially herding cows missions were awful. RDR2 im waiting for PC version. i only liked RDR1 was solely for western setting and not many developer do it. COJ gunslinger is 1000 times more fun than RDR and its because of core gameplay elements.

the point is. critics cannot criticize rockstar games. most of professional reviewers are either paid for 10/10 reviews or they fear that they may lost their jobs. as a result i rely more on youtubers reviews.

the reason GTA series sell so well and success not because of quality. but because its brand name and even many non gamers know what GTA is and they play. many of my friends who barely play video games only play GTA5, FIFA, and dota all the time. they dont even know what red dead is. let alone any of other games.

remove GTA name. remove rockstar name. then tell us if they get more than 7. absolutely not. neither would sell 100 million copies.
