Alright... I'm calm... relaxed... nothing can affect me in my zone... but I do have a question:

Why the FUCK do you play a game if you're just gonna rage quit when I start kicking your ass?! Seriously, what is the mindset behind these people?! It's a fucking GAME, not the 2012 Olympics!

sigh...

People play games to be powerful, I think.
They go into them to be the best soldier, criminal, adventurer or whatever there is.

So it brings them down and frustrates them when they're brought out of that, and they're not that heroic figure any more.

U mad Akbar?

In all seriousness, ragequitting is annoying as Hell, especially when you wait ages to commit to a 256-a -side game of MAG or something.

They're immature enough to confuse winning with having fun? If you approach a game believing that the only way to have fun is to win, the of course you're going to rage quit when you're not winning, because you're not having fun.

Now granted, if you're losing all the time, that can be pretty hard to have fun with. Still, when people learn to approach games with more of an attitude of "I'm just going to have fun no matter what, because it's a game," as opposed to an attitude of "I'm going to win so I can be the best," I think rage quitting becomes much less likely.

I love ragequitters. At first, I got annoyed, but what Gigaguy64 said about them...I welcome them for two reasons.

Reason 1

Reason 2
To post them on this site http://www.rage-quitters.com/

I don't rage quit. ..I calmly leave before the score gets too stacked against me, or if there's just no point. If I have no chance of winning, may as well just give you the victory >.>

The only time I get pissed off in a game is when bullshit happens. Bullets from heaven. Stealth super heavy weapon guys. Impenetrable armor that you can't hurt because you can't unlock that item because you're not a paying member/that level. Stupid crap that upsets the balance of a game.

The last game I raged to was Brink. If I rage quit because you are kicking my ass, it's probably because my internet is too shitty to maintain a decent connection.

I loathe multiplayer games unless they're co-op.
The only time I rage quit is playing single-player games when they give you bullshit fucking impossible moments in the game. Like that fucking dragon at the end of the Prologue in the Witcher 2.
All you have to do is hold the down key, and yet half the time you'll make it, half the time you'll die.

Some games drag on too long after one side is clearly going to win with the other having no chance of a comeback, that's when I quit.

If its a fighting game, just take the loss and leave after.

I used to rage quit a lot back when I was terrible at games, but now that I've gotten much better I don't do it anymore even when I'm getting dominated. I guess when someones a noob or not that good they are more likely to quit out of rage because they don't like to get dominated and don't dominate themselves where as now I can hold on to the fact that I can just dominate later.

I never rage quit in a online game, I actually believe I can learn one thing or two playing against people who can kick my online ass.

But offline there are some games that make me rage quit.

Or, leave earlier and get in to another game quicker.

Absolutely. That was the context I was originally mentioning, as this happens ALL THE TIME in fighting games.

Hey, i did that this evening!

Just in THE END part now, got 3 out of 5 of the levels done. The worst part is when he simply slides off a platform even though you KNOW you pressed jump!

Yeah in a fighting game there's always the slim chance you'll go insane and combo your enemy to death with your last sliver of health so you're never in a completely unwinnable situation. I mean in team pvp games where you're outnumbered and their team is more skilled than your team but aren't interested in finishing the game as much as racking up kills.
