I've had all sorts of funny random things happen in this game and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I was wondering what kind of things have happened to you in this game.

For example, I was riding out in the desert and this guy on foot says "mister give me a ride! and starts begging for me to give him a ride but when I get near him he says "I have a better idea." He then pulls me off my horse and jumps on it and starts to gallop away. So I whistle for my horse and he bucks this guy off and he starts running away. I shoot him in the leg to catch up to him and tackle him down and knock him out with repeated fists to the head.

Just because that can happen in RDR it's already the best sandbox game ever. That kind of interactivity is just fantastic, when shit is being done to you and you yourself don't have to start every interesting thing. Makes a virtual world feel a lot more alive. Unlike, say, Oblivion. And I still have to wait 2 days for it...

Oh, I'm playing it, and having so much fun with it.

As I'm only 7hrs into the game so far, and still very much around Armadillo I haven't had too many randoms like that (though, as someone said earlier that this kind of stuff can happen is awesome).

I've enjoyed the treasure hunts to the most so far (aside from the story).

Man I wish I could play it more!!!! I got it on tuesday but my friends invited me to see Iron Man 2 so I only got maybe 3-4 hrs into it, then yesterday I spent the whole evening with my gf... but I've got the whole night tonight to go hard =D I really can't wait. As for random stuff, not much... yet. I've had to help a couple guys out getting attacked by coyotes, and one of them didn't survive. That was kinda funny *loot corpse*. I hope I get horse-jacked. That sounds awesome.

Question: how did you tackle and knock him out? I tried taking out a bandit to get him alive, shot him in the leg then ran up with fists, but I just kicked him until he stood up and shot at me (while I was punching) so I shot him in the leg again and same thing happened... he died after about 4 or 5 shots to the leg. I assumed the only way to take a bandit alive was with a lasso and drag him back. Also when in Armadillo and that whore was getting beaten up, first time I tried to just beat the guy up and instead he just stood there taking it and shot me to death.

I select fists after I shot him in the leg, and you can tackle him with Y. You can also push people down. Then you can sit on his chest and punch him till he doesn't move. I couldn't loot him so I assumed he was knocked out.

No honor for knocking him out though, must be some way to get honor in the situation probably had to shoot him in the back as he was riding away.

Hah! I had something similar happen to me!
I'm only 2.5 hours in, but I saw the guy attacking the woman, so I tried to pull out my fists to teach him a lesson via a few missing teeth, but I was still getting used to the controls! So by the time I was ready, she was dead and he started to walk away. So I said 'screw it' and shot him in the back of the head. I got bad rep for that.

But then I saw it happening again, later on, and I didn't waste any time!
I went straight for the gun and shot him in the temple.
'Good rep!'

Sweet.

The game is pretty darned awesome. I cant' wait to get into it some more!
I might try the multiplayer tonight!

That happened to me to! haha. Used Dead Eye to put that bastard down.

My Story: This isnt funny or anything but it made me love this game even more. I met a rancher in need of help, this guy was begging for help and I felt bad so I decide to help him out. He said a group of outlaws have taken his daughter and they are in a giant house with guards on the outside. This starts a massive assualt with you and the rancher vs. 20 outlaws. Once you get to the bedroom you have literally one second to activate dead eye and shoot the boss before he can shoot the daughter.

Its just amazing how even tiny mini challenges/random encounters can lead to epic shootouts. I think this might be the best sandbox game I've ever played.

That's awesome. My 2nd attempt was better, but I shot him in the stomach. Then the whore got up, thanked me, and then ran away screaming bloody murder while the guy I shot crawled pitifully on the ground. First my rep and honor went up, but then he died and my honor went down. I guess letting people suffer is bad.

That was a great mission! Twin rocks or whatever it's called. I pulled out my pistol when I entered the house, barely saw the guy through the doorway so I wend all DeadEye and blew his brains out. Man this game is awesome!

It also netted me the Dastardly achievement much to my surprise lol.
That sounds awesome, I hadn't thought about getting this game but now I am. What consoles is it available for?

Just a random RDR related question:
I've been reading that the PC version of RDR has been cancelled, but I can't find a proper source. So is that just a rumour or is it really true?

Ah, yeah. I got that encounter yesterday, but I just paid them the $17 they wanted... I wasn't really paying attention. :p

Everything is the same one ps3 as the 360 version, only difference is the PS3 version runs 640p or something like that and the 360 has higher res at 720p i think. Other than that, the MP, SP, and social club events are all the same. No console has anything "exclusive"
