The gunman who has declared war on cops in england has been cornered. It's live on channel 501 for those with sky. I may have this wrong and this may be someone else but I rushed this because I think everyone should know.
Well to be fair, you're an American, not English so you've an excusetellmeimaninja said:Why have I never heard of this man ever?
Well, noting that he seems to be a "Fight authority for the sake of fighting authority" kind of person, good to see that things are going wrong for him.
Gunman in UK, got out of prison, killed his ex's new man, and wounded her and a policeman. Then declared war on the police and was missing for a week. Police closed in on him outside a village after finding evidence and now have him cornered.Ekit said:Wait... Who is this guy and what has he done? I feel like I've missed something important.
The last article's interestingShoqiyqa said:That's who. Actually not anyone important, except to the people he affected in the past week, but the media do like to make a big fuss about these things ... even if they probably shouldn't [http://www.independent.co.uk/opinion/commentators/johann-hari/johann-hari-did-the-media-help-to-pull-the-trigger-2020927.html].
Again, it's more about the huge scale of the hunt for him I think. As you say there have been higher body counts, but never really this much police response and stuff.Lord Mountbatten Reborn said:Sky called him the Most Wanted Man in Britain.
Considering the fact that technically he only killed one person and wounded two others, compared to them serial killers, I think Sky is over-exaggerating things.
Sensationalism for the masses. Rupe told me it worked. I'll congratulate him over our next game of Bridge.
Well he injured a policeman, his ex girlfriend, and shot another man dead. But yeah you're right about the last partflaming_squirrel said:So he declares a macho, angry war on the establishment yet after all that (thankfully) only injures one policeman and ends up with his own gun against his head...what a pathetic idiot.

Hmm, don't understand why they didn't just shoot him down straight away and be done with it.Wadders said:The police have him in their sights and he has a gun to his own head.
All we need is one sensible person with a megaphone, shouting "do it ya fucker, blow your own head off"!Demon ID said:Yeah ive got it on bbcnews.com I'm now kinda realising this is going to last for hours and hours.
I'm just waiting for some idiot to find away around the corden and spark everything off.
I just can't help but imagine some idiot from say news of the world getting around it just to make him open fire on the police etc.Private Custard said:All we need is one sensible person with a megaphone, shouting "do it ya fucker, blow your own head off"!Demon ID said:Yeah ive got it on bbcnews.com I'm now kinda realising this is going to last for hours and hours.

For an armed stand-off, it's really really boring. The reporters aren't helping though, you can see them desperately trying for the 'reporter of the year' award as the dullest exciting event in history unfolds.
Bring in Sheriff John Bunnell, we need some dramatic commentary!
He has a shotgun pointing at his own head and he's surrounded by snipers. There's only one person likely to get killed......and that result would be best for everyone.Demon ID said:I just can't help but imagine some idiot from say news of the world getting around it just to make him open fire on the police etc.Private Custard said:All we need is one sensible person with a megaphone, shouting "do it ya fucker, blow your own head off"!Demon ID said:Yeah ive got it on bbcnews.com I'm now kinda realising this is going to last for hours and hours.

In many ways, i'm happy it's boring. Boring means no ones getting killed.
Cos they are police. Their job is to bring him in alive for trial etc.Penguinness said:Hmm, don't understand why they didn't just shoot him down straight away and be done with it.Wadders said:The police have him in their sights and he has a gun to his own head.
They could shoot the gun from his hands. Not sure if our marksmen are pr0 enough for that thoughThaius said:So is it only in the movies that they can shoot him in the leg or something and thus probably keep him from killing himself? 'Cause that seems like a pretty good plan to me...
I didn't know that until just a couple minutes ago, the news seems to only like saying so much information at a time so they can pat it out. God their on about facebook now.Private Custard said:He has a shotgun pointing at his own head and he's surrounded by snipers.
