In halo reach there is one moment. At the end after the credits where your simply tasked to survive. Your chased down by enemies and hunted by drop ships ect. Soon your helmet starts to crack and your HUD disappears. Then suddenly the you take your helmet off and the controls are ripped away as you watch from the helmets point of veiw as you are killed.

First off this was a great idea. A last stand. Something games never offer as were never usually losing them. But this one falls short. Part of this is due to the Idea of reach. The fact that we know we will lose ruins this. Once the helmet cracks you know your dying soon beyond control. One thing could make this work. The ability to surpass normal abilities. Last stands are about taking on impossible odds and nearly winning. In these moments men do things beyond what their capable of. This should have been employed. Splinter cell conviction gave us a super human sam fisher rampage mid game which was an awesome adrenaline rush. Give us that. Speed us up make us strong, bullets more accurate and more powerful ect. Make us beyond superhuman and then put us in intense situations. At one point i found a high ground that allowed me to take advantage of basic tactics and allowed me to hold my ground. Then they used dropships and airborne vehicles to pick me off and force me out of any advantageous situation. Once i found myself safe from them i was in a pit surrounded. Seriously, Swarm me or hunt me. Don't use cheap mechanics like that. Make it exhilarating let me hide from air support or fend of swarms don't just use air support to ruin my fun. Finally Don't take control away. Let me be Noble 6 up until death.

Here's what you should have done. Swarm me try hard to kill me. Let me take a hill and hold my ground. Let me fight. Slowly let my helmet crack but keep all elements of my HUD. Shatter my visor, Put a hole i can see through, Make noise louder and visually clearer. Finally make me take of my helmet. let me continue on. And if i must die let me keep control. Let me struggle. If you want a dramatic death, Make it. create an interactive scene. Have an elite grab my neck while i can press buttons to flail and fight. Finally Kill ME! not noble six. I want to die AS noble Six from HIS VEIW. Games are about experiences not cinematics. Let me do rather then watch.
