Search bar approved, I believe.

I'm curious to see what you intelligent people would do over again in your life now that you have gone so far into it. Think along the line of Prince of Persia but your whole life. As tempting as it might be, please refrain from get rich quick schemes like investing in stocks you knew were going somewhere or something like that. Its not really constructive and a little obvious.

Personally I would have worked on my self confidence as a kid. I was afraid of being an arrogant ***** so I took the polar opposite reaction of hating myself. I now see self loathing can be just as obnoxious as arrogance and can come with its own issues, like depression, anxiety and eating disorders (luckily I love food to much for that one). I also would have gotten a college degree in something that would help me actually get a job, rather than just something I'm good at. I would also work harder to find my calling since I seem to be a little aimless at this point

So if you had to put up with the ups and downs of growing up again, how would you improve your current existence?

I would have came out at age 5, thus likely solving many of my issues currently.

I wouldn't be a virgin now.

I wouldn't have been as pissy as I was in elementary school so then I would have had friends in school(well, more than five).

I would have started working the moment I was able instead of dicking around.

I would study more and spend more time with people.

Honestly? Probably nothing. Sure there are a lot of mistakes I would like to go back and fix and quite a few people that deserve a good kick in the rear end. I mean all those experiences is what makes us. If we go back and change them we would probably be an entirely different person. Sure I have a ton of bad memories but I wouldn't give up my good ones to simply erase the bad. Everyday is an adventure in some way or another and the world that has grown around me seems bleak and desolate but there are always those times when the world is a very hospitable place and everything just falls right into place. So if I had the chance to reset my life I would probably change very little. However it would be nice to go back and experience life all over again with the knowledge that I have now.

I'd be a virgin, and not worry about sex.

I'd establish my personal rules before I had to integrate into society via school.

I'd know what to do if I was being bullied and take care of it.

I'd choose my friends carefully...by choosing not to have any friends, only acquaintances.

I'd develop a daily training regimen that I could easily do wherever I am.

I wouldn't worry about being nice to people, but I'll try to keep neutral in most matters.

I'd try out in community theaters.

There are so many things, I can't list them all.

I'd be more selfish and less wrapped up in being nice. I've seriously fucked myself over because I hate asking for things or doing things other people might think are selfish.

Also, there's a series of decisions I made in high school that I really wish I could have a second shot at, but those are a little personal.

I would kill myself, over and over again. Not of any emo sense of despair, I just can't stand at the edge of a long drop and not wonder what the fall would be like.

I'm only 21 and therefore not really concerned with a reset button.

Sure I strugled with (remarkably) similar problems as the OP in that I had self esteem issue's and therefore have had quite a though time at highschool.

Since I moved away from home to study Chinese though it turns out that I'm at least half a decent guy at something so no reason for me to keep writning myself of as a loser anylonger.

mmmmm maybe going abroad was somewhat of a reset button for me in that it helped me get rid of my 'I can't' attitude.

I'd put a quote here, but frankly the level of sugaryDisneyfeelgoodnes would rise to dangerously high levels.

We are not dead yet. We can make changes here and now.

The change I'm trying to make is to forgive myself for all the mistakes I have made in my life so far, and for all the mistakes I will be making in the future.

I agree 100%, not much reason to be reborn, you can always start today, you just need the will power.

OT: If I had to be reborn, as in, didn't have a choice to stay, then I would improve my drawing skills, and learn a third language. (Ofcourse I am working on those today as well, so being reborn isn't actually needed).

That would be interesting...

Falling...
Falling...
Falling...

*SNAP*

......'That was AWESOME!'
Would kinda suck if you messed up and forgot to go back.

Mine would be:
1. Studied a HELLUVA LOT MORE than I am now.
2.

This.
I always have been, and probably always will be.
I just can't be evil.
Although my gaming profiles would say something veeeeeeryyyy different.
3. I wouldn't have taken that stupid VCD (Visual Communication and Design/Graphics) class in Year 9, waste of a semester that could have been used on something like music, or more multimedia.

There are so many things I'd change, I can't even list them all D:

Although, if I did change them I wouldn't have ended up on The Escapist, so it's debateable in my head on whether or not I would change anything :/

A lot of things I'd change are to do with school and such, I know why I started getting bullied in secondary school, which is rare I think, so I would fix that for a start :/

I wouldn't do it. Sure there have been many hard things in my life that changed me forever but I wouldn't be the same person if I fixed them. I have this whole don't dwell on the past and just look to the future mind set.
