ok someones going to bite my head off for this... First off World War 3 really, if World War 3 happens there will be no out right fighting with guns, Its going to be either "BOOM BOOM BOOM World destroyed" (nukes) or "TYPE TYPE TYPE dark ages" (hacking). Second another call of duty really, because its not like they have been milking that series for about 3 years now already. Its the same reason we got a fast and furious 5 and why we are getting a fast and furious 6, The same reason we have so many saw movies, come on Activision Stop with the call of duty and take a chance with something new. Perhaps a revamp of vampire the masquerade.

Wait I thought CCP had the rights to Vampire the masquerade now and were just ignoring it to focus on Dust 514 and EVE Online, basically just using it to sue david heath.

It would be an absurd world where a major corporation stops making the fastest selling game of all time to make one for a relatively small fanbase.

I think the Modern Warfare sub-branch of Call of Duty deserves existence because, well, Call of Duty 4 was freaking amazing, and this sequel needs to be made on account of Modern Warfare 2's bastard cliffhanger. Other than that, I can't think of any reason other than "it makes money" that Call of Duty needs any other installments. It has been... dwindling in quality. And by "dwindling," I mean... spiraling downwards.

I am talking about the fan remake not having enough crew. I don't want the douchebags at Activision to remember they even have the IP. They would kill the remake and release some half assed version that would force me to strangle Kotick with his own intestines.
It sucks but I honestly doubt we will ever see another VTMB. Quality writing like that is exceptionally rare and no one will take a chance on it anymore. Or it will be given to hacks who over play the sex angle of it and it will come out a trumped up harlot with no soul and dead eyes...
When you put it that way you just sound right... Its really just kinda sad. But They should just try something new. Mirrors edge is a good example of trying something new sure the game was mostly a fail but i enjoyed it, also portal is a good example.

also Russia starting WW3 is unlikely (I don,t think a country that has economical problem,s is going to pick a fight with a country like the US North Korea is more likely to start a war with the US)

My friend and I once joked that the game would have 50 killstreaks and give you +10 (with the annoying 'you got points!' percussion effect) for walking, +20 for reloading, +50 for throwing a grenade and +20,000 for actually killing people normally. Also, you get no points for capturing a point or planting the bomb, because no matter how hard they tried no amount of points would stop people ignoring the bomb and playing deathmatch-style.

We'll see how accurate we were...

They're making an MMO based on the World of Darkness RPG, which is the same universe Vampire the Masquerade is set in. It's not like they're just lying on the IP.

You obviously haven't been on the internet very long if you think "no more CoD!" is a controversial thing to say.

I am actually curious on what the discussion here is, as you didn't really set up any and just ranted on about what franchises are being used and what are not.So I'll assume the discussion is "Why do companies make heaps of sequels?"

They want money. Simple.

The big giants aim to keep their profits nice and big by releasing games that are in hot demand to the public, regardless of quality, as they are a business and know that it will sell.

Really, I am just interested to see what they are going to do with that game and how they will make it bigger and flashier than the previous games.

What's scarier is your grammar.

OT: They, don't need one, at all. But they'll make them till we get the CoD killer.

Treyarch's contribution to the series has been phenomenal. World at War is comfortably the best in the series, and Black Ops isn't far behind. Both games are an absolute masterclass in presentation; hopefully IW/Sledgehammer took note.

I'll buy Modern Warfare 3 for the same reason i bought all the others: i really like the single-player gameplay. They have an amazing template in place, and the only thing really needed to continue the franchise is a steady flow of ideas for new level scenarios and set pieces.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. You don't see the CoD rabbids trying to convince the gaming world that certain games shouldn't exist. I see a lot of parallels between hardcore Call of Duty haters and hardcore atheists in this regard.

Eh, live and let live.

The series doesn't hurt you by existing.

Although I do worry somewhat about the effect that it has on the course of the industry.
