Realtime worlds founded by ex staff of DMA Design and the makers of Crackdown has gone bust after the crime MMO APB did not do to well. Begbies Traynor said the game suffered "lacklustre demand" and that 60 members of staff have already lost there jobs and it could be up to 100 if not more of the 200 staff employed before the collapse. This is a huge shame and says a lot for the Games industry in the UK. We lots out on tax bakes which would ease the presser and helpfully spur more development and studios. There are still a fare number of studios left, Many have been absorbed into Sony or Microsoft. Newcastle based Freeradical was bought out by Crytek several years back and we seam to have some studios left but the games are thing on the ground.
What do you think of the loss of another studio in one way or another and the states of the games industry.
