Quicktime. You Have to have it to have iTunes, and the stupid thing automatically sets itself to be the default player for MP3's. So that means that when you go to a page that contains an .mp3 file, It's little player appears and starts playing it. If you right click it, you will see "save as source- PRO". This means that in order to DOWNLOAD the MP3, You know like the page would have done normally if you didn't have Quicktime, have to PAY MONEY to get your old functionality you had before you downloaded it back.
I don't understand how any company would have the nerve to be so deceptive and money hungry to prey on people who think that they're getting something of value through having that ability, when really it's something they had until Steve Jobs took it away from them. It's a chore to turn off Quicktime as the default MP3 player, thus making it huge difficult to download the freakin' mp3. God, I wish I could just uninstall it, but then my iPod would be rendered useless without iTunes.

EDIT: Realized that you just need to disable the Firefox plugin. Not really a chore, but still, I'll bet there have been people who have bought Pro just to download a file because they thought there was no other way. And that is deceptive, bad business strategy.

A lot of people hate Apple (and Steve Jobs), but I personally love 'em. Everything Apple I own works with me.

I wanted to download that song. When I opened the page, quicktime player started being all in browser and playing it. Right clicking to downloaded it resulted in it telling me I needed to buy Pro. When really, you can just disable Quicktime and download it.

you can turn it off as your default mp3 player, and disable plug-ins that are set up in your browser, i dont mean to be a dick about it but you are wrong (by the way this was written on a windows laptop)

people should know what they're installing before they install it. its not apples fault that they didn't read what was going to be installed and didn't look up a way to fix it or change the program. i mean how hard is it to use google

Simple solution? VLC Media Player. Make it the default player for .mp3s like I did.

Or just get a Zune. They ship worldwide for about 120-150 dollars on Amazon.

Steve Jobs has nothing to do with the functionality of QuickTime, although I'm with you in the sense that I also hate Quicktime, lol. Thought I suppose for different reasons...
