So what is the most recent anime you've watched/are watching?

For me, its been Freezing. Its okay - its surprisingly violent for fanservice-y anime and while the story is kind of meh, its at least entertaining to watch.

Do H anime series count? No? Ok then it would have to be Macross. Rewatched it a few weeks back (my god, I'm just now realizing how little free time I've had thing summer compared to during collage semesters).

Freezing is alright. The best arc is in the second season when satellizer and aoi go visit her family. The whole rape thing comes back up. The ending pissed me off to no end though.

I've been watching sword art online II pretty much exclusively. I've got to harems I need I start. I've watched one episode of Tokyo Ghoul, but I have to wait until the uncensoured version comes out. Need to start Akame ga Kill! As well. Anime just doesn't get me pumped up like it used to.

Quite a few ...

Barakamon - A wonderful slice of life/comedy. It has a pretty interesting protagonist, characters, and setting. It is very heart-warming and light.

Zankyou no Terror - A intruiging Psychological/Thriller. About two non-stereotypical terrorists and a girl, with all the mystery that comes with it. I am really enjoying it. It looks great, the characters are nice, and the mystery adds quite a lot to it. Especially considering that *Gasp* terrorists are the main characters!

Tokyo Ghoul - A dark fantasy. It is really interesting and bloody, but it is censored as Elfgore said. I'm still watching it, just really bad it is censored. A shame really, but I still like it. It has some interesting things.

Sword Art Online II - Obviously if you know Sword Art Online, you should know about it. To me, SAO is a difficult topic. I thought the first arc went down, and the second arc went down faster then a expensive hooker. The characters are not exactly great, the plot may have promise, the villain is interesting but ... I laugh at their name easily, not taking them seriously. I'm simply waiting for more of the combat to see if I should just drop it or keep watching it. To me, the plot and characters are not good, the only thing that is good is the combat, animation, and setting.

Ao Haru Ride - A Comedy-drama/Romance. Something which I really like as a person who HATES the harem genre, real romance is great and this one is your usual romance, but I'm finding it full of charm. Simple, but I'm just a person who likes romance anime.

I'm liking this current season, sure there could be more non-harem romance, but *sigh* ...

I just finished Kill la Kill. It was really fun, it felt almost like a blood brother (sister?) to Gurren Lagaan. So fast-paced and overly dramatic, but still satisfying and genuine.

Anime is a weird thing to me. I enjoy it but there's so much that it's hard to find the good stuff.

I'm still trying to finish Fist of the North Star. Amazing, if cheesy, post apocalypse kung fu show from the 80's. I really like it but it's soooooo long.

I just finished Sekirei unless there's a third season of it somewhere that Netflix doesn't have. It's much better than I expected as I don't usually like harem style anime but the fight scenes make up for it. I just wish the plot was explained better. The villain seems to have no motivation for anything beyond boredom and general dickishness.

I just started Knights of Sidonia which seems like something I'll love though I hope that the Gauna are eventually revealed as something beyond mindless kaiju sized tentacle monsters.

I watched the first couple episodes of Tokyo Ghoul and it seems like an interesting idea that will be wasted if the main character doesn't come to terms with things soon. He's having a natural reaction but it's dragging any semblance of plot to a crawl.

My roommate talked me into watching No Game No Life and I can't stand it. On top of being dull and wierdly perverted (I'm no stranger to perversion but when an 11 year old girl admits to wanting to have sex with her brother in something that's not explicitly porn and I get uncomfortable. It's bad enough in hentai.) its just painful to look at with bright oversaturated colors.

Sayanara Zetsbuoe Sensei: It's fucking hilarious. It's the first anime to make me burst out laughing. It has a very dark, cyanide and happiness brand of humor. A suicidal and depressed teacher is paired with a painfully optimistic and happy student, and the clash between their personalities is hilarious. Everyone should watch this.

Well, prior to a couple days ago, I'd never properly gotten into an anime series despite my fondness for the style. But my family recently got Netflix and so far I've watched nothing on it but back-to-back episodes of Death Note. Needless to say, I like it. Afterwards I plan to check out Sword Art Online, Kill la Kill and Attack on Titan, since I've heard an absolute crapton of praise for each of them...though that's about the extent of the anime available on Canadian Netflix that looks appealing to me.

Oh, and I'll probably go back to watching the original Persona 4 anime later, which is sitting rather lonesomely next to me. Someday. Though I enjoy it and there are some pretty interesting and funny moments, it feels like I might as well just play the game again. But on the other hand, I'm too lazy to do that and I don't like it as much as Persona 3 anyway. I dunno. At least it was the source of some of the best gifs on the Internet.

I knocked out Psycho-Pass over the weekend. Great anime. Definitely would recommend.

Other than that, eh. Nothing's really caught my interest lately. Its just the usual suspect of shonen's that have been running too fucking long and some shovelware, so I'm just catching up on my backlog.

I wish it did... The last one I saw had one of those "tsundere girls" in it...

OT: Besides any anime on Toonami right now, I'm currently re-watching Haganai: I Don't Have Many Friends again... probably wrap that up with a re-watch of the original Tenchi Muyo series...

Other than that, I'll be re-watching Paprika for the X-tenth time... (Why haven't I bought this movie on DVD or Blu-Ray yet?!)

Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, I loved the first series but I put off watching Brotherhood for some reason, finally watching it and as you may have guessed, its really really damn good.

Also been watching Chi's Sweet Home, teeth meltingly cute, only 3 minutes an ep, so I watch one every now and then.
I just finished Brotherhood this morning, it is so freaking good. One of the most impressive, complex and deep stories ever put into anime form. It's even better than the original which I loved :D

OT: The shows I'm keeping up with weekly right now are Sword Art Online II, Akame ga Kill and Persona 4 the Golden ANIMATION. I've also watched the first episode of Aldnoah Zero which I'll probably continue.

Still need to finish Gurren Lagann as well.

I guess that would be Space Dandy season 2 (I am watching other animes but I wouldn't say they are recents since they were out months ago).
It's ok since I don't have high expectation for the show althought I did loved the season 2 premier (so many Dandy's)!

Space Dandy Season 2: Great fun and very imaginative Highly recommended to all who haven't watched it

Terror in Resonance: Made by the same guy who did Space Dandy and Cowboy Bebop. It is really tense and I'm intrigued at how the show is going to pan out

Tokyo ESP: Well this thing is an interesting beast. It is a story of oppressed espers with one side being anti human and others being pro human (at least that's what i gathered from the first episode). It seems to be a ripoff of Zettai Karen Children which in and of itself is a ripoff of the X-Men. But it's inoffensive and seems like fun to watch so I'm going to stick with it

Tokyo Ghoul: It seems okay. But there are several plot-holes that I find really hard to stand and as a result kind of takes me out of the experience which I hope will be resolved as the series goes on. It still seems intriguing so I'm going to keep watching it.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders: It needs no description, It is that unashamedly awesome!

Recent as in airing date or the last one we watched.

Whatever, I'll do both.

I tend to stay up-to-date with anime, so this season I'm watching Space Dandy, Tokyo Ghoul, Akame ga Kill, Sailor Moon Crystal, Terror in Resonance, Stardust Crusaders, and Aldnoah.Zero

As for the last anime I watched, I just recently saw Tales From Earthsea. That was underwhelming and boring (and confusing at the end). Didn't even feel like a Ghibli movie.

My recent Anime.....none I must admit.
This is strange because I was a huge fun of ANime, but then I decided to watch MLP and Adventure Time.
Western Animations are more......expressive. I don't want to see all the time the cute, big eyes people all the time....
Also I don;t have a lot of time because of work, so.........yeah.

Of course there are a LOT of exceptions that I don't have time to watch.

Sekirei is pretty great (YAY FOR BOOBIES!), but you do have to get past the fact that Minato's mother is probably the worst mother on Planet Earth (who doesn't actively abuse her children anyway) and that Kazehana and Tsukumi could solve the whole fight thing in about 4 seconds if they would drop their romanticism/honor respectively for one episode.

Still a great show though.

I'm watching SAO 2 and i'm... impressed but not surprised? at how good the first 3 episodes are. This is precisely how SAO 1 started, a really strong opening that doesn't quite live up to the hype or becomes the worst anime EVER, depending on which side of the SAO scale you're on. In general even people who hated SAO concede that the first episodes were good.

That justified self defense with Shinon in episode 3 though. That was the most hype scene I have watched in ages, why would you get traumatised over that? That shit was badass!

I read the manga of Freezing and the story was good but it seems to be occupying the same space as an average harem anime when it doesn't really need to be. It's as if it's scared of people getting bored with the story and feels obligated to flash some tits in every other minute. Oh and fuck sake if you're going for that main character chick being untouchable can you not get her touched before the halfway point of episode 1? I was almost interested for a second.

Also watching Akame no Kill and i'm wondering if all shounen-type anime are going for the edgy thing when sudden dark twists happen to the main character, see episode 1. I'm blaming Attack on Titan for this.

Also also i'm watching Mahouka, AKA The Adventures of Shiba Tatsuya: Anime Jesus. It's fun alright, but the most recent episode where he fights somebody who is supposedly his equal just ended up being another time for him to showboat his OP magic. It could have been used to show momentary weakness in an otherwise invincible character but they wasted it.

Not that he doesn't have his flaws, he's modest to a fault. As another character tells him, too much modesty sounds like insulting sarcasm, especially since he's spectacularly awesome at everything ever. It does grind on me but it does give him even one character flaw which is nice.

I'm liking the increase in anime threads around here by the way. Hopefully anime things will increase because I have yet to find a decent anime forum and people here are generally coherent and agreeable.

KLK was made by the two main guys who wrote and drew Gurren Lagann, they split from Gainex to form Studio Trigger. So it actually IS a sister to Gurren Lagann. After the start of the second episode I had to do a search as to why the opening didn't credit Gainex because I figured out where i'd seen the artstyle before.
