Oh, and Rammstein. Brilliant metal band.

And, if you don't mind that everything is in Japanese, Maximum the Hormone is an amazing metal band.

I've seen some good bands previously mentioned, but many people here are simply posting their favorite bands (I may have missed a point in this thread, so feel free to shoot me if I did).

On topit, I'll give reason to mention Meshuggah. Before them, extreme metal was generally characterized as unintelligent, violent screaming. Meshuggah, however, took this stereotype and smashed it to the ground.
They can be hard to get used to, but just about every Meshuggah fan will agree that the band is comprised of geniuses.

Agreed on the MGS soundtracks, they're awesome.
Also, the "chili" of Red Hot Chili Peppers is only one "l"; sorry to be meticulous, but being a big fan, this common spelling error annoys me:p

If you want to hear something new I would highly suggest System of a Down, they have a really unique sound, Pretty much everything eles I would suggest has already be mentioned.
Woah boy lets not go crazy here, we're talking about Bands that actually SING right?
YES! I have been waiting to see another user say that!
FYI Both of System of a Down's vocalists sing
I'm not implying that they don't sing. I'm implying that they can't sing. And I couldn't help but chuckle a little when you typed "FYI." I don't know why. Hey, that rhymed!
If they can't sing, then why are they a multi million selling, mainstream band?
You know who else makes that kind of money? Miley Cryus. Wow, she must be a great musician!

/sarcasm

You do know that you're not going to make me change my opinion about their singing, especially with such a weak argument, right? I don't care how much money they make. I think that every aspect of that band is actually really good. Except the singing, of course. Some people call it innovative; I call it shit.

Am I insulting you for liking them? No. I understand that people like the band's style, and I can respect that. I hate the way they sing, but hey, that's just me. I just don't like them. If you like them, cool, whatever. Just don't get all up in arms because I think their singers aren't good.
I'm not implying that the fact that they are mainstream makes them good, (indeed, using your example, myley cyrus is an example of the usual crap that clogs up the charts)
But its pretty much a fact these days that any mainstream/ chart music is that of acts that can sing (or, indeed are digitally manipulated to sound as if they can) regardless of whether the act is actually musically talented or not. the mainstream generally don't accept metal bands that just scream, therefore my argument proves that they sing, which is what our argument originated as. whether or not they sing well, or whether one likes them or not, is down to individual opinion.
Thus marks the end of an argument caused by sloppy semantics on Thunderbrew's and my part.
