Recommend a stratergy game.

I feel that my array of FPS games is beginning to bore me. I love TF2 but theres only so much of the shouty death I can tolerate before my ears start to bleed. Can somebody recommend a good stratergy game? The last one I played was Age of Empires III and before that it was Settlers 2 - That was a great game.
Something nice and easy though. Im not a huge fan of the genre.

Settlers 2 isn't exactly lightweight so I'm not sure what you want exactly. If you are worried about being recommended a super heavyweight grand strategy game then I sympathise with that. All that military history and minor tweaking of hundreds of variables is too much for me.

I recommend Gratuitous Space Battles and Majesty 2 from recent games. Civilisation 4 is a must play.

If you liked Age of Empires you should get the Age of mythology game, the basic gameplay is kinda the same but everything else is just miles better.

Also recommending Gratuitous Space Battles. Basically is a TD with moving towers (spaceships). It's quite fun.

Also, the spiritual prequel, Total Annihilation if you don't mind dated games.

StarCraft is still worth it I think, if you can tolerate the graphics.

EDIT: For what it's worth, I'm not an RTS fan either and I enjoyed these games very much.

Sins of a Solar Empire is meant to be good. I can never get into strategy games though. Can anyone actually recommend me an accessible strategy game? Just an introduction to the genre but also a good'un.
