Recommend: First Person Shooters

I am going to start playing through my FPS collection when school ends, because:

1.) That sounds fun to me.
2.) Remember the Old Days.
3.) Because a lot of the games I remember loving, I have never actually beaten.

I was wondering if you fine folk have any games you believe to be amazing FPS's. The games i currently have range from 1992 - 2008, so any release date is fine, i could care less about graphics. The only real rules I have are:

1.) First Person Shooter, the only non-fps on my list is Max Payne 1 & 2.
2.) PC only.
3.) Call of duty 3 - 6 I am not playing.
4.) Call of Duty: United Offensive was the best call of duty.
5.) Have to be able to actually "Beat" it.

So please give me any suggestions for games you think every one should play, i would be very appreciative to hear any.

Borderlands is a fantastic RPG/FPS crossover, and well worth what you can get it for now. I'd find people to play with, though.

I assume you've already played the Half-Life series, but if not...there's your recommendation right there.

Battlefield 2 is also pretty good, although unfortunately I've only played it on the Xbox and don't know how it holds up on the PC.

thanks for all the ideas, however Red Orchestra I believe is a Multiplayer game, and i was looking for mostly Single Player games. Which is why i left off quake 3 and and Unreal Tourny.

And i've had borderlands laying around for a while, i guess i'll check it out.

Goldeneye 64. Redefined the genre, fantastic local multiplayer and a suprisingly good soundtrack. Perfect dark was pretty good to, but I'll allways love Goldeneye.

GoldenEye I remember from when i was a lot younger. Good game. Havn't played Perfect Dark, But TimeSplitters 2 and Future Perfect are my top 2 favorite console games, with Power Stone in a close 3rd.

I have played Red Orchestra but if i recall, the only servers that were populated were on the east coast or Europe, which isn't good for a Seattlean like me.

Actually, I did like the tank battles, except that every damn person in the game wants to be in a tank by themselves!!!!!!
