The title says most of what needs to be said.

I'm getting a bit bored with my only DS game, Pokémon Soulsilver.
So I want a new DS game. Preferably a RPG, one where you can just relax and read the plot, some turn based battles.

I do have a few ideas, but I'm not letting you know those yet, to see if they really are recommended.

Thank you in advance.

Try the new Golden Sun game.
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn.
Of course, it would be better to play the previous two GBA games first...
But the new one recently came out in America, and releases on the 10th for the UK.
Not sure about the Netherlands, though.

Devil survivors a good game, it can get a bit repetitive but the its got ALOT of reply value.
obviously TWEWY: a little tricky to get used to but fun
avalon code, probly one of the best games for a ds.
ff3 is a good old style rpg. (id avoid revenant wings)
but if you can find it, get a copy of sands of destruction, plays like a standard RPG but well made and funny
-hope this helps

There, did a little fix for you <3
Also, you may want to avoid doing three word or less posts, as they are generally seen as low content.
Which is against the guideline >.>
Just in case you didn't know <3

Just to be sure, which Golden Sun games would I have to play before?

Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age are games 1 & 2, set a few years before the new game, in which you play as the son of the main character, I believe. You don't have to play them, but when each game could easily rack up 80+ hours per play through (first time, anyway), there is a lot to learn and do.
I'd suggest playing them so you know the back story, but I doubt they are necessary.
They have made it so that you don't have to play the previous ones in these games, but it certainly helps, like transferring data from one to two to get all your levels, djinn, items, cash, etc.
They aren't the most common of GBA games either >.>
But they can be found on Ebay or perhaps Amazon, if you care to take a look and purchase them from such sites <3

I'd try Infinite Space if you can find it. It's got a good story, and all navigation is done by text menus so there's really no overworld to speak of, so sit back and read all you like. The battles aren't turned based, but it's got a pretty simple rock-paper-scissors thing going for it. Also the fleet customization is fun, and pretty deep.

If you enjoy Final Fantasy games, pick up FF3 for the DS. Also, Final Fantasy Tactics A2 is another good one for you to look at. I noticed someone recommended DQ9, and I'll point to Fire Emblem.

Ok, you should definitely play the Golden Sun series, its amazing!! Also, play Chrono Trigger, it's just simply amazing and has like 14 endings (theres probably more... Idr...) and there are more things to do after you beat the game.

Chrono Trigger
Dragon Quest IX
Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor
Etrian Odyssey III (less plot, more hardcore dungeon crawl)

DRAGON QUEST 9

its a great game, fun plot, great battle system. It just generolly rocks, lot of class options to pick from and Enix treats its flag ship franchise well constantly releasing completly free updates for the game. This is the absolute must pick for a great jrpg on the DS, hell one of the best rpgs J or otherwise out there. ITs a great game lets you really explore the world, and once you get the boat you can go absolutly everywhere.

So yea...

I love Dragon Quest 9, its a great addition to the best jrpg series and is a must have for any ds library.

the number 1 game in japan cant suck right :D
I second this.

The Dragon Quest series has remained virtually unchanged from the start, getting more and more old school with each instalment. Unlike Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest games have always been made according to the same basic formula. While this may seem off-putting, it also means that the producers are getting REALLY good at making this kind of game.

So if you want a diverse, old-fashioned adventure game that goes on for ages (an increasingly rare sight these days), Dragon Quest IX is as good as it gets!

These exactly fit your criteria:
Golden Sun: Dark Dawn
Disgaea DS

These don't exactly fit your criteria:
Chrono Trigger DS (not truly turn-based but I believe you can make it so in the options)
The World Ends With You (action battles)

Of cource all of the above come HIGHLY recommended from me.

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time/Darkness/Sky.
If you can get Sky, its got extra mission and has the music for it. And the music is divine.
