READ BEFORE POSTING
The kind of comic I'm looking for does all of these things:

*Tells some kind of ongoing story.
*Recurring characters.
*It doesn't have to be a humor comic.
*Jokes in themselves aren't a problem, though.
*Skilled artwork.

So yeah, I DON'T want you to recommend me XKCD. (I mean, hey, I already am a fan of it.)

Webcomics I already read include Girl Genius, Jack, Gunnerkrigg Court and, of course, Questionable Content.

I recommend a webcomic called El Goonish Shive. It fits under all the things you listed and the story is pretty interesting, if you can get past all the obvious inconsistancies that occur at the begining of the comic.

Goblins comic
Lfgcomic
thenoobcomic
order of the stick

Springs to mind, all of them are fantasy based with goblins and order of the stick being DnD while thenoob seems to be based of MMORPGS in general and LFG general fantasy

Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire. The actual story doesn't really start until after several strips, but it's still awesome.

I've read all of these. LFG is great, thenoob is hilarious but not what i read when I'm in the mood for plot, like the slightly less hilarious order of the stick.

That sounds like pretty much my list of requirements.
As such, I'll give you my list of current reads.
(In no particular order)
Penny Arcade
PVP
Ctrl+Alt+Delete
Questionable Content
MegaTokyo
Dr. McNinja
Sinfest (Probably my favorite)
Freak Angels (Also undeniably excellent, if a little horrific occasionally)
Goblins
The Phoenix Requiem
Scandanavia and the World
Sandra and Woo
Mokepon
Fey Winds
Gunnerkrigg Court
Looking for Group
No Need for Bushido
reMIND
Paranatural
(This is getting really long, and I haven't even gotten to the ones on my other browser...)
Okay. I'm gonna stop there. I know that's an information dump. However, the best of that group are probably:
Questionable Content, Sinfest, Freak Angels, Goblins, and Gunnerkrigg Court.

* El Goonish Shive
* Questionable Content (kinda an ongoing story, though more like a slice-of-life comic with evolving characters)
* Goblins Comic
* Girl Genius
* Spinerette
* Dr. McNinja (episodic ongoing story)

Not that long, if you only count the ones I haven't read. Freak Angels isn't one of those. I love it.

My favorite which, as it happens, satisfies all of the above criteria is Exterminatus Now. If you're even the REMOTEST fan of Sonic the Hedgehog, you'll appreciate it. http://www.exterminatusnow.co.uk And now, I'm off to read this week's update...excuse me.

Go here and read 8-Bit theater, one of the best webcomics I've read. There are other comics there to, but this one is the best.
And this link will take you to the first comic.

Excellent. In that case, when I get back to my desktop, I'll reply with all the little ones I've found over the years, as most of those are the more popular ones.
