Recommend me JRPGs 2, since the first was great.

I did this once before on a different forum site, and I got some really good recommendations. Now basically do what the title says. But before you start posting I have already finished all of the games in the Final Fantasy series, so please don't recommend those. I have also finished all the Persona games (those got recommend a lot in the last thread) so anyway just post your favorite, and why you are recommending it to me.

Golden Sun, both of them, on the GBA. A little simplified, perhaps, but still exciting, with an intriguing, epic story and likable characters.

Well damn, I was gonna suggest the Personas.
Disgaea is fun, but it's a JSRPG. Have you played any of the other Shin Megami Tensei games?
The Breath of Fire series is also rather enjoyable.

Lost Odyssey and Last Remnant are decent, though both have annoying protaganists in their own way.

Soul Nomad and The World Destroyers is an awesome, awesome game (as is Disgaea but I'd imagine you've tried those by now).

The World Ends With You is pretty good for the DS.

The Monster Hunter: Freedom series (PSP) is one of the most successful titles in Japan, though admittedly is VERY slow paced, and not for everyone. It's basically an action RPG hunting simulator. I've played it a bit but am horrible at it, it also has perhaps the absolute worst camera control every conceived.

Spectral Force 3 can also be fun, but sort of limits your character development since it does have a time limit of sorts, and that can make it especially rough. Especially if you want to recruit Hiro who is arguably the defining character of the series.

Bladestorm is fairly inexpensive now, and is another action-RPG title that is quite fun. It's sort of like Dynasty Warriors where your commanding units rather than laying waste to everyone and anything alone. Underrated, and unlikely to ever see a sequel, but I found it pretty entertaining for an action-RPG (and yes, unlike Dynasty Warriors this one can be considered an Action RPG).

While it might be hard to get Chaos Wars is a pretty decent Strategy RPG featuring crossovers from a lot of game series. Decent transdimensional Storyline also.

Cross Edge (coming out at the end of this month) is a decent seeming crossover game in a similar spirit.

Then of course you have Mana Khemia (and the "Student Alliance" version for the PSP which I have not played). That's definatly pretty interesting.

Tales Of The World: Radiant Mythology can be fun also, a "Tales" game crossing over characters from the various worlds/series where you get to create your own character, level them up, and choose from a number of differant character classes.

I have this nasty habit of not finishing games but I own a ton of them as you can tell.

Oh, if you play Western RPGs on the PC at all these is a semi-obscure game out there right now called "Drakensang: The Dark Eye" which I highly recommend. Overall my favorite RPG of the "current" generation of games right after Fallout 3.

Whatever titles of the genre Unskippable has covered.

That should change your perception of this awkwardly-cast, nonsensically convoluted plot-driven, mindfuck medium of vapid entertainment.

Try the Shadow Hearts games on PS2, ESPECIALLY Shadow Hearts: Covenant (the second one; but you have to play the original first for story reasons). Also the Digital Devil Saga games (a slightly more accessible subseries of Shin Megami Tensei, although not quite as accessibel as Persona), the Disgaea games if you like strategy and maybe the Grandia games if you like absolutely awesome combat systems. I'd suggest leaving Xenosaga until you're classified "hardcore" RPG fan.

Dude, just shut up if you're not going to be fucking helpful. Unskippable isn't even funny anyway.

The posts before mine are pretty good choices:

You can't go wrong with Persona 3 FES, Persona 4 and Digital Devil Saga, they are as good as JRPGs get these days.

Lost Odyssey is also worth checking out, it's simple, but has an awesome soundtrack and short stories that make you read them all over again. And the ending is simply bittersweet beautiful.

The three Xenosaga games are pretty well done with part 3 being the best, but it's necessary to get through the solid first and meh second before.

And Shadow Hearts and Shadow Hearts: Conenant are very, very good. Buy them when you see them, especially the first one is pretty rare.

Well, THAT should cover a couple of months...

I would recommend the 'Tales' series of games. Tales of Symphonia (GC) was a pretty fun game although the voices awere terrible. Tales of the Abyss (PS2) is also a good game with an excellent soundtrack, however it is only available in Jap/US so if you're from Europe you will have to import it.

Totally agree with Arcane. Unskippable isn't very funny at all, and your comment was a lot less then helpful. What was even the point of posting it?

Anyway, a lot of the titles I would have chosen have been mentioned, but I'd not forget to go back in time a bit and try a few older titles, such as Chrono Trigger, Suikoden, or Secret of Mana.

LIES! I managed to have a great time with Xenosaga 3 having never finished the first one, and never played the second one. Though I would recommend reading up heavily on the storylines of both previous games, or you won't understand a damn thing in number 3.

...with fairly lackluster plots (4 and 5)

or some of the most boring turn based battles of all time (1 to 3)

Someone's already recommended the Tales series, I see (including the two I'd recommend first, Tales of Symphonia and Tales of the Abyss). That's good.

I'd also recommend either of the Baten Kaitos games. You could play either first, although playing the first one (Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean) allows more appreciation of the second's story (Baten Kaitos Origins is a prequel). If you play the first, just remember to turn off the voices as soon as possible, lest ye be driven to madness. And if you play the second, don't turn the voices off, the acting is spectacular.

I've heard good things about Skies of Arcadia, though I have yet to play it myself.
