Recommend me some fantasy TV series

Hi all,

Just saw the first episode of Game of Thrones, which is based on George Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. I'm pretty into my gritty fantasy and really liked the look of it. Unfortunately, it's only on once a week and being the crazy actor stage-combatant that I am I need a daily fix of swords and blood. I've seen Spartacus Blood and Sand, and Rome but want something less sunny and more grim, not Hercules or Conan. Anyone have any suggestions?

Legend of the Seeker.

Personaly I dont like that kind of series - but I hear this one is supposed to be alright, might aswell take a look.

The 10th Kingdom.

I think that's what it was called. It was on a few years ago and it was awesome What was it about? Well, the protagonists are a human girl from the modern day world (who gets sucked into this fantasy other-world), a lusty werewolf, and a prince that's been turned into a Labrador. The antagonist is your typical evil witch with the useless troll minions, of course. But the many fantasy tropes they come across and lavish production values really do make it one hell of a show. You'd probably have to watch it online through megavideo or something, though.

Spartacus sucks imo, unless you simply like watching almost naked men have a go at eachother in an orgie of blood, and as soon as there isn't a fight there is a sex-scene instead. I think the story got lost somewhere in between. Also neither Spartacus nor Rome are fantasy series so why mention them at all?

I don't really know of any "grim" showes, but one good Fantasy serie is Merlin. There is also "Legend of the Seeker" but it is not that great imo. It's ok but not much more.

I'm a stage-combat based actor, I liked watching it. Thanks for your input but bugger off for your opinion
