Sorry guys and gals, I have seen SG-1, Atlantis and bits of Universe. Never was a fan

*shock gasps and blasphemy I know*
I can't love you anymore.
Gonna have to call off the wedding.
WTF?! *turns angrily to face McHanhan* You were gonna marry him, too!? Our wedding's off, too!"

*What? Oh, yeah! The topic.*

An old show called "Quantum Leap" was pretty popular during it's time. I never watched it myself, and I don't know if they still air it, but the people I know who are into would definitely recommend it, so, maybe give that one a shot.

Yes, If that show didn't have Eli, i wouldn't have watched it past the "Air" parts 1 2 AND 3.

And McHanhan, i must never speak to you again. Goodbye.

You forgot Stargate.
Stargate Universe is basically BSG with Stargates, or so I heard.
I refuse to watch BSG, so.
That could not be further from the truth.

Frankly, I think BSG, Star Trek, Dr. Who, and Firefly pretty much exhaust the field in terms of decent sci-fi shows. Maybe try the X-Files, though I've never seen it.

I can only think of Red Dwarf... or perhaps The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, original TV series, not new movie.

Pretty much this. Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis I both heavily recommend. The verdict on Universe is still out for me. I never watched BSG so I can't say how similar the two are, but I have heard that they're both very close in feel. I'm enjoying it so far, but I'm doubtful that I'll ever like it as much I did the other two.
I too am enjoying...most of it.

Yeh, they're both really heavy into the drama. I don't like drama. I don't give a shit if Cloe gets pregnant with Scott's kid while secretly in love with Eli. I could care less if Colonel young leaves his wife for the hot nurse, only to have his wife cheat on him with Colonel Talfabritalard or whatever his name is...

Names were not change to protect the innocent. Because none of them are innocent. They're all sluts and man-whores. Except Eli.

And yes, ALL of that is actually in the show. I'm just predicting the pregnancy. But they've already had sex.
I do love drama, and the DARK AND EDGY tone, but I agree with you on the sex - I can't actually like any of these characters because they're all slutting it up.
It's like, "THANK YOU LT. SCOTT, for fucking like ten people on camera already. But...die.
Please."

Ack!. Damage repair!.

*ahem*

What I meant was that AS MUCH AS I ADORE the Stargate franchise I can't help but feel disconnected to it. I liked SG-1, O'Neil is everything I look for in a man 0_o. Atlantis was ok..until a certain someone died..and SGU..I don't know..bugs me for some reason. I am trying to like the cast but damn it they are making it soo hard.

A perfect example was that Dr.Rush character in that episode called "light" (I think) at the end he could have just accepted the thanks but no..he had to imply that he knew what was going to happen and leave everyone stranded..why is everyone trying to be

a) dodgy

b) slutty

ugh..

so yeah anyway..not Stargate

*hides*

..or Firefly, Dr.Who, Torchwood, Star Trek, Andromeda, Heroes and Sarah Conner Chronicles. I have either seen them all or the little I have seen does not fascinate me. I love BSG, Firefle and Dr.Who, the others are 'meh' and I was wondering if there was any other sci-fi that I could sink my teeth into?.

Edit: and not Stargate

Get yourself to a Bookstore or Library and peruse the "Crystal Singer" series by Anne McCaffery as well as "The Rowan" and subsequent books by the same author.

Seriously. Sci-Fi movies/Television is garbage compared to literature.

Another Fanatasy/Sci-Fi series that I enjoyed was the "Book Of the New Sun" series by Gene Wolfe.

Oh, and depending on your tolerance for Animation, it is my firm belief that every Sci-Fi devotee should watch Cowboy Bebop and Last Exile. (Last Exile is actually up for Streaming via NetFlix, as I type this.)

Exo-Squad, an American cartoon for teens. It was sci-fi war drama, almost an American version of Gundam. It had a good plot, great character development and good voice acting. There is a myspace page set up where you can watch every episode.

*Yoink* Guess what I'M bookmarking.

Okay...I'm gonna pick four that I like that I'm pretty sure nobody mentioned yet. (Lot of good suggestions so far, but some I don't like too.) SO!

{1} The Twilight Zone - Old or new series, don't care which. A ton of creepy weird short story-type episodes of the strange. Worth a look if you never did, certainly if you ever did, because there IS alot of it.

{2} The Outer Limits - For the same reason as #1, except the episodes are an hour long. Old and new series as well, longtime running in either case. Should be good depending on if your tastes are modern or classic.

{3} Knight Rider - You either like it or you don't. Personally, I go for it because freakin' robot car! (1982 series or 2008 series available, though hard to find either. Still, it counts as sci-fi.)

{4} Primeval - You mentioned Doctor Who and Torchwood, but you didn't say anything about the show with time travel and dinosaurs (not to mention all manner of other creatures and strange plots). Certainly worth a look.

Well I've been really getting into that new (For Australia I suppose) Flash-forward show. BUt I have got to reccomend you, Red Dwarf. It's science fiction but it most definitely is a comedy show.

But of course!. Is it going to be a shotgun wedding though?

Did you also know that Torchwood is an anagram for Doctor Who? Mind blown anyone?
Omg, mindblown!. How did I not pick up on that?.

Well, you've taken many good ones...so here are some maybes for you...

Andromeda, Quantum Leap, V (Old and New), Sliders, Mystery Science Theatre 3000, Babylon 5...

Lost (especially season 4 and 5, but need first three to know what the heck is going on.)

All I got, hope find something and your avatar is distracting, words there but all I see is "gorgeous redhead". Can't expect proper responses with that.

X-Files, Red Dwarf, Futurama (alright, so 2 out of 3 are more sci-fi/comedy, but still they're good)

Nobody cares about Babylon 5? Weak, guys, weak. I would have thought that it would pe popular here but it seems that you all just scared, weak little children, worthy of neiter pity or mercy.

I will recommend some other sciene-fiction however.

The animated Star Wars show, before the cartoon movie, is quite good.
Twilight Zone
Dune TV series, Dune 200 I think it is. The movie is crap but the book is good so you might want to read that first.

I didn't like the above one very much but hey, it couldn't hurt if you checked it. Not exactly Sc-fi but whatever.
