Ok Later today I will be getting $30 in my Steam wallet (As soon as Paypal wants to get off it's ass and finish my bank transfer) and I would like to get some recommendations on what I should get. I like FPSs, RTSs, and JRPGs. So are there any good titles I should get?

Team Fortress 2. Can use that money to buy hats.
I play it all the time and I am not interested in hats all that much.

I will suggest Mass Effect, followed by Mass Effect 2. You will want them when ME3 comes out.
My system can't run the ME games.

All of them!
though in all seriousness, you might be better to weight for a sale if you're binge steaming.
erm company of heros is a pretty cool RTS...
(not the right genre but KoToR is amazing if you haven't played it)

If you don't have Deus Ex, Half-Life: Source, and Knights of the Old Republic (alternitavely Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy), you can get 3 of those for the $30.

if you add a few more bucks into that, you could probably get HL and the Orange Box, which are worth the money, easily. Portal, both Half-Lifes, TF2, and the two HL episodes so far.

Reccetear: an item shop's tale is a JRPG I've heard very good things about. Haven't played it myself but it's about the only JRPG on Steam. System reqs shouldn't be very high and it gets great reviews.

FPS-wise Half-Life 2 is great if you somehow haven't played it yet. Get the Orange Box so you can add in Portal.

Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas are both great choices, but higher on the system reqs.

TF2 is free-to-play now, but you should totally get that. Damn, just get the entire Orange Box, you'll get your money's worth.
How about telling us what games you already have and like so that we can recommend games that you would more likely to enjoy?

The Left4Dead's are really enjoyable (I like number one best)
Chime (cute little game, I've had a friend say it's Tetris for people with OCD ^_^ )
Plants vs Zombies (a smash hit, not undeservedly)
Borderlands (loads of fun, whether in single player or with friends)
Machinarium (a true gem, a complete masterpiece, but don't get it if you don't enjoy puzzles)
VVVVVV (if you like retro stuff; I do, I'm a bit of a nostalgic)
Braid (innovative and fun, challenging)

There are too many to list, but that's a start.

What you should really do, though, is keep an eye out for Steam sales. My motto is "never pay full price". ^_^ Happy gaming!

I just bought and am downloading Bastion ($15). I heard it was good and am looking forward to it.

Reccetear was also an enjoyable JRPG-Dungeoncrawler-thing

In terms of the best "bang for the buck" games I've had off Steam, you can't go wrong with Mount and Blade Warband, King's Bounty, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. All three have come in under $10 on the sales. STALKER Pripyat is the finest and most immersive shooter/scrounger/RPG hybrid I've ever laid hands on. Kings Bounty is a cheerfully addictive HOMM clone with lightweight RPG elements. And Mount and Blade is like Medieval Total War re-imagined in over the shoulder perspective. I have almost 200 hours in Warband and I've barely seen half of what that game has to offer.

Mount and Blade Warband: http://store.steampowered.com/app/48700/?snr=1_4_4__13

STALKER Call of Pripyat: http://store.steampowered.com/app/41700/?snr=1_5_9__13

King's Bounty: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/6121/

None on sale at the moment, but they go on sale regularly. I had all three for just over $20 during last years' Thanksgiving Sale, and it's some of the best money I've ever spent.
