Now, I'll get this out of the way first: If this should be in the Off-Topic Discussion forum, then I'll ry and get it moved.

Now, onto the topic at hand.
I've been looking for a good RTS game, not necessarily with a storyline, that has a fair bit of content, and isn't graphics heavy.

Stuff by Gas Powered Games is out because my laptop (EEEPC) has absolutely no chance in Hell of running their games. Trust me, I've tried.

I've got WarCraft and AoEII, and am looking for Command & Conquer.
Any other good ones I've missed?

Why would a thread about games belong in Off-topic?

As the guy above me said, Sins of a Solar Empire is good. Its designed to play well enough on a broad spectrum of hardware. I don't know how good your PC is but you should at least check it out, you can get it cheap. The one biggest flaw is a lack of a story (it wouldn't work with that type of game anyway) so if you can overlook that than you should really give it a try.

Dawn Of War and its expansions, as well as Sins Of A Solar Empire are the best modern RTS games coming to mind.

Also, Spellforce 2 is a decent RTS/RPG hybrid, but it has some crippling bugs.

If you're willing to back catalog your games, Warcraft 2 & 3 are must-haves.

World in Conflict!

Amazing game which didn't sell nearly as well as it should have.

I still play Age of Empires II from time to time. And I spent an ungodly amount of time in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade. That whole series is great (except for Soulstorm from what I hear). Dawn of War II is okay if you're okay with no base-building. Unfortunately, that's one of my favourite elements to RTSs.

Well heres few:

Dawn of War 1 + Expansions
Dawn of War 2 + Chaos Rising
Red alert 1/2/3
Starcraft
Warcraft 2/3

My favourites are DoW 1&2. They are just pure awesomeness.

Most people have posted stuff that is quite computer straining, so I'll give some stuff that will work on anything.

Total Annihilation
Total Annihilation: Kingdoms
[small]Kingdoms is a fantasy type with dragons and whatnot whilst the original is sci-fi[/small]

Starcraft
Warcraft 3
[small]Same way round again for the fantasy/sci-fi.[/small]

Red Alert 2...
I haven't got a fantasy equivalent for that one.

No Gas Powered, huh? Well, I guess I won't reccomend Dungeon Siege then.

Lessee.... Sticking with classics from 2001-2003....

*Diablo/Diablo 2.
*Baldur's Gate/Baldur's Gate 2.
*Neverwinter Nights (if you can run it, it's fairly old, so maybe).

I always though the Heores of Might & Magic games were good for laptops. I'm very partial to 4, but most people prefur 3.

If you liked the REALLY old 2D Zelda/FF games, theres some for PC/Laptop called "RPGMaker Games."
The most popular ones are made by Amaranth Games & Aldorlea Games. Aveyond & 3 Stars of Destiny were great.

Those are all RPGs, not RTSs.

Firstly, C&C The First Decade. You can get it for under £10, and then you apply the community patch 1.03. It's mint. Although your netbook might not be able to handle Generals.

Rome: Total War is also good. Try and find the Anthology version, as it comes with the expansions. (Or search on Steam: Rome Complete)

Also, if you can run it (there's a demo on Impulse), Sins of a Solar Empire. Again, try and get the Trinity version, as it has the expansions.

I'm gonna say... Rise of Legends. I thought it had a lot going for it, although it's been pretty overlooked since its release, as far as I can tell.

Other than that... hmm, anything with Age of Empires on it is good in my books.
