Hey guys, I have a question. Me and a buddy are going to do an LP and I'm having trouble finding a relatively inexpensive way to record both of our voices in the same file in audacity. I bought a Blue Tiki mic from a friend, and it works fine, it just has a tendency to cut off the first word when it comes out of its auto-mute when no one talks for 2 seconds. I thought about one of the higher end Blue mics, but I'm having a hard time justifying $180 for a mic...

Well how are you recording it now? Are you both in the same place or is the chat over Steam/Skype/ingame? Also what is controlling the auto mute - the mic drivers or a program?

Right now I just set up the mic on a little desk between us. It's sensitive enough to pick up both our voices with good quality. I unfortunately can't turn off the timed auto-mute though,

Apparently it has a "Natural Recording Mode" which should negate the auto mute issue...there should be a button on there somewhere that enables it and makes the LED turn purple. Are there any other issues with your current setup?

Holy crap. I never even noticed that button. Missed it because it's not actually a button. I had to press in the front panel to activate it. It did turn purple and it doesn't auto mute now. Thanks for the info. I'll be trying that out tomorrow and hopefully it fixes my issues.
