A few hours ago, the Red Ash kickstarter posted an announcement that due to behind the scenes negotiations, they have secured FUZE entertainment as a publisher. As a result, the game will be funded to completion, effectively 'filling' the stretch goals. it will have all of the optional sections and be ported to PS4 and XBONE. They are still running the kickstarter, and say all money will go for more content, that will be announced soon (4 days remain on the kickstarter). They ask all backers to please continue their support.

Aaand, now they have a publisher to fully fund their game, but they yet to tell them what kind of content the extra fund's will go until they feel like announcing it, yeah nothing shady at all.

If they have a publisher to fund their game, then they should just cancel the KS campaign, the whole purpose of KS is to raise funds for a project without some kind of middle man getting in the way.

Inafune is surely pulling a Crapcom here.
Only because he's the guy who caused that mindset in the company in the first place. I just laugh at how NOW people realize what a slimeball he is when back during his CAPCOM days it was painfully obvious how sleazy he was.

I'd sooner trust a fox in guarding a henhouse than Inafune with a ton of money. I swear, he's becoming (or has become) the Japanese equivalent of Tim Schafer.

Greed, plain and simple.

Incoming talks about how it's just how game development works with Kickstarter...

Heck, I'm still surprised people didn't raise their eyebrows when Squeenix was picked up as the publisher of MN9 like three months before launch.

With Inafune and Schafer I feel they should never be allowed access to any of the money. They should only be assigned to what they are good at and any ideas they have will have a trained professional see if they have the funds available.

This wouldn't have gotten funded without a publisher, right? And they still have an anime planned, apparently. This is a little strange, but I'm curious about the game none the less.

I'm happy they got funded, and I may gladly buy their product. I certainly won't be funding the kickstarter, though.
