Curious to see how much has changed since 2010?s outing, and how far their engine has advanced since GTAV.

I look forward to the Battle Royale mode being given pride of place while the single player campaign is casually brushed away, because ESPORTS right my fellow kids?!

I wonder how much more obnoxious and hate-filled the characters are going to be this time. Or maybe Dan Houser got it out of his system with Max Payne 3 and GTA5.

About time, I think it's odd that they show first gameplay just 2 months before release.

Looks awesome. Insane production values though that's to be expected of Rockstar. Really looking forward to this.

One of the few developers that I think would only see the BR craze as a side mode. With persistent online being the 'primary driver'.

I still don't get the hype for Rockstar games. The one thing from the actual video you can take away that RDR2 might not be another Rockstar: The Game is the role-playing aspects that may just have rather minor effects on NPCs and the story. The shooting still looks antiquated just like any other Rockstar game. There's still no demonstration that missions aren't designed in an extremely linear manner.

Doubtful, the only time his writing has been enjoyable was during the PS2 GTAs where he wrote "fun" stuff vs trying to be serious with themes and messages.

A lot of people like attention to detail, and that's in no short supply here. At the end of the video she said the next one will feature missions. Also, what exactly is the shooting supposed to look like? Of course they're going to have Deadeye, and they aren't going to have an old west themed gunslinger running around like someone from MGO2, Vanquish, GR:FS, etc.

I just hope the shooting doesn't have that annoying thing going on where it's too hard to shoot manually (especially when riding a horse), but way too easy when using the lock-on. This is something Rockstar games usually suffer from.

Horizon: Zero Dawn and MGSV had some of the smoothest aiming mechanics I've played. If it's similar to that then it should be golden. Having said that, I doubt I'll get this at launch. Too much else to play yet, but by the time they sell the GotY edition with all the giblets at half price I'll be ready to swipe it up handily.

Every Rockstar game, the shooting never feels right, the games prioritize animation over player inputs along with under-the-hood stuff like aim acceleration just being off. Bioware's shooting in Mass Effect (at least 2 & 3) felt better than a Rockstar game where I could quickscope phantoms in the head and it felt right (assuming the stupid aim-assist didn't move my aim to some other enemy). Even Uncharted feels better as well and I considered them average-at-best shooters. Thus, I don't require the shooting to be fast-paced like Vanquish or GRFS. Also, MGS4/MGO2 have rather standard movement and aiming (that are just so spot-on) but the game isn't very fast-paced either, there's no sprint button for example and you really just jog fast. What limits the gunplay as well are the enemies in Rockstar's games, they really have no AI outside of pathing AI. Every gunfight just devolves into a shooting gallery because all the enemies know your position and just shoot at you, there's no stealth options like breaking line-of-sight to give any dynamics to gunfights. Nor Rockstar really design any gunfights with the environment itself making for the dynamics like say Uncharted set-pieces.

I was able to sorta get used to aiming from the horse in the 1st RDR (that I quit playing once I got to Mexico), I would just drag-scope enemies from horseback just dragging the cursor across the screen and shooting when it was over an enemy.
