Catchy. Any idea what it means?...

Today's thread is special. We're not here to promote propaganda, perfect Injustice League mind control technology, or gather information for the glorious day when our organization conquers Earth (Join now to avoid Slavery! Only 5 payments of 69.99).

We're here today to satiate a simple curiosity.

What is something (or somethings) in your life you regret doing, and what is something (somethings) you're proud of?

[HEADING=3]

Most of my regrets are sex based. Mostly people i shouldn't have slept with that i did. Worst part is i knew it was a bad idea beforehand, and did it anyways. And i said people, it happens all the time. I still haven't learned my lesson, i just make bad choices when sex is on the table.

Uh, Chief Inquisitor? Shouldn't that be "somethings you're NOT proud of"? xD

Anyway, I'm not proud of how I let people annoy me in to fighting them in my younger days. :/

I got better as I got older, but I really let those little shits get to me.
Worse is because I was the one who brought things into the physical realm, I was the only one who got in trouble normally, and then it would just happen again later anyway.

It's a little shameful that it still bugs me a bit, but I think I'm moving on.
Not forgetting it, but not letting it completely lead my life. :)

You can't get a Halo 2 quote past me!

OT: I do regret not taking my high school grades more seriously. I would have preferred to have gone to a good university right out of high school with scholarships and what not.

My other regret has luckily turned into something I'm very proud of. I regret being overweight in my teenage years, but I'm proud of getting into great shape in my late teens/early twenties.

Two things come to my mind-

During my summer holiday before going to university I choose to lived out to have the greatest summer ever (mainly going to the city and watching alot of summer films) instead of getting a summer job to the point that I did decline doing some job stuff (I can't remember what it was). Needless to say this all happened before the recession which if I did knew beforehand I would of been more serious at getting a summer job.

I choose to contine my gaming night instead of going out with my flatmate and his girlfriend at this bar since I would like to think I would of met someone at that bar. This bar is popular among Chinese people which I'm into Chinese girls. Ok sure nothing could of happened or it could of been worse (my flatmate did once end up in the hospital from a bar incident) but it was still a chance worth taking.

I regret some things I did as a child. I'm sure a most people do, but there's certain moments that I look back on, and I'm shocked by what an apathetic, cruel little shitbag I was.

There's nothing I'm too proud of, since I seriously haven't achieved anything meaningful in my life... Except for not being a shitbag anymore.

<_< Hmmm......Oh, I guess you're right. xD

xD I'm just saying, it kind of comes out of no where. I mean, look at the title.

Anyway, to give the second part, I'm pretty proud of my grades right now, and getting accepted to UWSP. :)

Also, I regret my reading comprehension.
Seriously, that gets me in trouble. xD
Not much, but whatever.

I regret eating so much yesterday and I also regret the bag of crisps I ate today. Walkers sensation sweet thai chilli... gods it tasted so good. I also regret not getting chocolate. Otherwise I regret a whole bunch of things, then I think "screw it. No point regretting it now, what's done is done". Most of my regrets focus around me putting my foot in my mouth at some point or another and then letting it get to me how bad I felt about it. I regret being such a damn pushover most of the time as I was growing up. I regret not being fully honest with a dear friend of mine, and now we don't talk because I don't know what to say to her, she doesn't know what to say to me, and I don't think she would care for the full story anymore, there's no point to it all.

I am proud of not ordering two slices of chocolate cake instead of the 1 I did have. Gods it was so good. I'm proud of a few things. I'm proud of my university degree, I'm proud of going my entire life without taking a drag of a cig, or taking any drugs. I'm proud that I kept my head down and worked hard all through school and uni while maintaining a healthy balance of social life. I'm proud that I got myself through many situations I should never have been in. I'm proud that I no longer define myself by if I have a job or not. I'm proud of my ability to read sheet music just like it was a usual book. I'm proud of my hand-eye coordination when it comes to playing piano, hell I'm proud of my piano playing ability.

All in all, I'm a pretty darn awesome person. I'm happy with where I am in life, albeit a little bit upset I do not have a job yet. This is getting too deep isn't it?

EDIT: Ahh, the cold light of sobriety. It burns.

Kindly disregard this post.

Heh. You might say I regretted posting this.

I don't know. I try not to hold to many regrets anymore ever since I attempted suicide. Hell, I don't even regret the suicide attempt, because it shaped who I am now.

I guess one thing I regret is that I hid the fact that I'm gay for so long. For years, nobody I knew in person had the slightest idea. I even had a friend that I knew I could trust, but I even hid it from him until just a week ago. I still have only told two people that I know in real life.

Okay, on the lighter topic of something I'm proud of, it would have to be losing my fear of speaking and performing to crowds. I used to freeze the moment I stood in front of people, but now I can go up for hundreds to see and it hardly phases me.

Obviously, I regret lots. Granted, as I've never really lived a life that bothered by morals or really a life too sentimental, most of them have to do with physical commodities.

Granted, I'm able to feel proud of myself occasionally. I've recently got back into playing the piano and art - the two things I'd spend all of my free time on in high school, and even before that - and I'm thinking about going to university before I hit that magic number, "30". It's not likely that I will, but it's nice to have that option open.

But ultimately, I suppose my biggest regret is constantly falling out with my family, usually because of matters in my control. Three weeks later, everything's healed, forgotten about. It falls appart; gets better, falls apart again, rinse and repeat. The deadly cycle of realising my life is a hollow myth and wanting to make it into something.

...That was a lie. My biggest regret is reading My Immortal, taking a sip of Ice Cream Soda whenever there's an IKEA erotica or a mispelling. I woke up with a migrain and I left my front door wide open. There were crows and a fox milling around in my garden, not sure whether to go in or not.

I did the same thing after quitting my Wal-Mart job. This was mid-year 2007. I got my vacation pay, plus a nice check from a class-action suit against the company. So I enjoyed myself, went on a shopping spree. I should've been looking for another job immediately in hindsight, but hindsight is 20/20 and I regret nothing I did in the following months. I never felt more free.

Hm, I somewhat regret going straight to university out of school, in retrospect I probably would have done better if I'd taken a gap year or two working before going but oh well, a bit too late for that. I also regret some things I said and did at school, but then who doesn't?

As for pride, I have a lot of things to be proud about, some major and some trivial, other than serious things like getting a decent degree and education, one that sticks out is my completing of the entire National Dex on Pokemon X, all 718 pokemon caught or traded legitimately, events included. Shh, just don't mention the three new events they haven't released yet >.>

I regret learning how to regret. Then, I regret learning how to regret learning how to regret.

I'm proud of learning how to regret learning how to regret learning how to regret.

I regret being a spineless coward when it comes to initiating relationships, in that I only did it once and it ended poorly.

I regret being too timid around new people and most likely missing out on potential relationships.

I'm proud of my ability to positively influence those around me (I've been called wise before).

I'm proud of my being able to stick to certain moral/ethical/behavioural principles.

I'm proud of hitting 2000 posts on here.

Of course, I'm still very young, so I fully expect this list to grow twenty-fold in a matter of years.

I regret being a massive coward and having mild social anxiety.

I am proud of...

Well, I'm not sure if I have anything to be proud of at this point in time.

Oh well.

I regret nothing. Yes ive made a lot of wrong decisions but hindsight is a wonderful thing and I hate the "shoulda woulda coulda" attitude.

Its better to accept the mistakes you made and move on rather than living with regrets

I regret breaking up with my first girlfriend. YAY CLICHES!

For something a bit more interesting, I regret being a lazy bum and not exercising, and keeping with my old habits that keep me a little bit overweight (190 lbs is ok for a near 21 year old, right...? x.x)

I'm proud of myself for being able to learn to control my social/mental disability to the point that I can be perceived as someone who doesn't have anything like that. Hell, I told one of my newer friends and he said "Wait, really? I'd never have known if you didn't say anything!" So, yeah, that's pretty rad~

Im 37. I still remember when i was 13ish and went to the careers adviser as part of my schooling (am in the UK) before i chose what subjects i wanted to chose. I really had a passion to be an architect or graphic designer. The adviser and me chatted for a while and i remember her saying that you have to be really good at those jobs due to competition. An somehow she talked me out of it, maybe it was because i was 13 and saw her as someone that new what she was talking about. I regret that i payed any attention to her bullshit opinion. This is something i will tell everyone at a young age as a caution.
