Countless times I have seen people get constantly angry at lots of different games, including myself previously. But the solution to all this anger is right in front of everyone's eyes. JUST STOP PLAYING! It seems obvious that if you are getting angry at a game, then you are not having fun, which is sort of what a game is for isn't it.

So next time you get angry or frustrated, just put down your controller and stop playing, occupy yourself with something else.

Simple enough right?

I don't really understand when people get angry at games either. I play games for fun, not frustration.

I get angry occasionally at games. But I can't quit, if I quit then that means the game won and I have lost, and that does not fucking fly with me.

I only get angry during games when a particular boss fight (final fantasy XIII Barthandelus) or level gets on my tits. To quell the anger i turn it off and leave it alone for a period of time when I'm ready to tackle it again.

I've only ever been angry once, and that was Prototype, the Q.T.E. I play on Pc, so the sequence took ages to appear, and I had to press the number on the top of my keyboard, the last one took me an hour to get right... AND IN THE END HE FLYS OFF ANYWAY, that really got me mad...

The reason why people tend to react so strongly, I think, is because they (or their parents or whoever) have invested money into this (unless you're borrowing). That tends to irritate me if I spend money on something and I'm not satisfied with it. Also, you end up investing time, energy, and emotion into that game as well, and when it goes bad (whatever the individual considers bad for a game, anyways) it's hard not to get angry.
That being said, there is something to say for the "chill out, it's just a game" argument.

Well a bit of frustration can be a good thing. Bit of frustration can mean a challenge, can mean something difficult, can force you to improve or think of a new way of doing things (a difficult RTS level is a good example of that last). And finally, when you do win, there is a larger sense of accomplishment if it was frustrating or annoying you in the first place.

But yes, overall I agree, frustration and anger at a game is kinda pointless, but I think if you get a little frustrated sometimes it's fine.

OP, you just don't get it. There are people who are genuinely passionate about video games, just like there are people who have strong feelings for a sport. Go watch the world cup, see how many footballers get annoyed or frustrated.

I'm waiting to see how many get shot or beaten by the police XD

If i get too pissed off i do stop. Or turn down the difficulty if its an option. Sometimes, just whacking the cod story on easy and running through shooting stuff without worry of death can be very relaxing

I was talking about the guys who actually do the playing of the game(the players), not the football hooligans. Oh wait, were you talking about the players too?

I get angry at a challenge, but I think that's an entirely different kind of angry. I think the closest I've ever come to getting angry at a game and still playing is Half-Life 2, and that's mostly because of Alyx Vance.

I honestly laugh when I hear people on Halo 3 saying how shitty it is and how this'll be their last game. It's never their last game.

I used to get quite angry at games sometimes, so I know what it feels like, but I managed to find a way to not get angry. But some things like football still get me frustrated but that's because I love the sport, and I don't think that factor will ever change.

I just go with the thought that games are supposed to be an enjoyable pass time not a stressful chore.

I misread your post. Sorry, but the same can still apply to the fans, hell, its even worse in their case. They get more frustrated than the players

I get frustrated by games that beat me a lot.

My solution is to beat these games. (Ugh, IWBTG.)
How interesting... I've never thought of the game "beating" me, but rather a failure on my part that I haven't found or executed the correct solution.
