I was talking to my friend 2 days ago and we got onto the long forgotten topic swine flu. Do any of you remember Swine Flu? The last I heard of it was March. Then it just flew out of existence. Personally, I think the Oil Spill killed it, then it will kill our bad Econmy.
Edit: Also, I got the next day. The swine flu must of heard me.

It went away long before the oil spill. Besides that, it's no more dangerous than the normal flu. Once people realized that, it wasn't worth mentioning anymore.

I remember how scared some people were. I got dragged out to get the shot, but I really didn't care one way or the other.

But it was way too overblown for it's own good.

Well I could ask the same question. Do you remember MRSA? Outbreaks usual die when people realize the chance of getting what's ever flying around.

Hahaha I was just thinking about how stupid the whole swine flu thing was the other day and how it went away virtually overnight. They always want just one big story to hype over and over and over. Remember before the oil spill it was Haiti? Now I never see stories on that. Even the spill is getting stale, prepare yourself for the next tragedy.

Christ I remember that being an excuse to get extentions on coursework at uni.
I never did it cause I barely even get colds these days but if somebody got a pretty bad cold it was:
"SWINE FLUUUU OMG!!! I have to stay in bed and not go to uni for 2 weeks and not do any work and go to the pub instead."
I think 4 of my housemates did that. Huge over-reaction and a general waste of time. One other housemate however was actually diagnosed with it and he could barely move, poor sod, which made it all the more obvious that the others were blowing theirs out of proportion.

I had the regular flu right before it hit our area so i was fine. Were i worked though everyone got it but me and one girl milked it pretty good by staying "sick" for 2 months.

Seems like every flu with an animal involved becomes a global epidemic...

Bird flu... Swine flu... Meh.

Did you know that if the statistics on swine flu were right then 100 people in my school would have died. Only one died... from regular flu... and a bunch of other illnesses.

How could I forget, it annihilated 80% percent of the population and society descended into chaos...oh no wait, that was just what they said would happen. Silly me.

It is more fear mongering that killed it. As people were so worried about it went out and got shots for it and were so extra hygenic it killed the chance of getting it even beyond the chance of getting it.

The media just blew it our of proportion, it was as harmful as the flu.

Yeah, I remember swine flu, just like I remember bird flu, Y2K, and just like how I will remember 2012.
I do remember it. It was horrible. A serious tragedy. The special effects were okay though. ZING.

One of the most terrifying displays of how the media can cause much ado about nothing.

what is this swine flu that you talk of?
corporate scaremongering and nothing more. The only people who were ever at risk were those who have generally weaker or absent immune systems.
