Buy an N64 and play Ocarina of Time. You'll get more out of it. Plus, the story makes a lot of sense and is actually good.

Twilight princess was just a huge dissapointment. Majora's Mask is the underrated crown jewel of the Zelda series, if you want my opinion.

You sound like a Yahtzee rip-off.
Ok, I'll be the first to admit that far too many reviews now-a-days are sounding like Yahtzee, but you have to draw the line. I really wouldn't have even thought about it had you not mentioned it.

I whole heartedly agree. Using masks to gain different abilities, and having actual side quests was nice. You don't even have to get your sword upgraded (it helps, but you don't have to). It was the first, and to my knowledge only, Zelda game that gave you such freedom (relatively speaking, that is).

Wind Waker is without a doubt my favorite game in the series, though. I can't really explain why. For whatever reason, I genuinely enjoyed it. I just had a blast playing it, and it's not often that I get that throughout an entire game. I suppose that fact that I enjoyed sailing around and exploring the different islands was a big factor. It sort of reminded me of sailing with my grandfather when I was little.

Wow, details, details and more details. I don't think there are many games you like.
So what if a wooden sword is handed to you in a wooden chest?
Don't get me wrong, I didn't like Twilight Princess as much as any other game in the series but I enjoyed it.
Overall I thought it was far to easy, not a single boss managed to kill me once, not even Ganondorf and I like bosses who at least try to kill me.
Download Ocarina of Time for the virual console (but be warned, the graphics have aged a lot), it is still the best Zelda game so far.
Oh and don't expect an RPG-like story.

it's a game, it's not supposed to be realistic.
your review did point out some bad spots, but I think your asking to much from a simple game.

I was REALLY confused when I played MM, I mean whenever a game is on a timer I get into "OSG I've got to do this quickly!" mode, which is bad because Zelda is about exploration and thinking, but it's on my Zelda Collector's Edition disk so I might have another whack at it.

As for his review I really liked Twilight Princess, it took a lot of the aspects from Ocarina of Time and made them better (minus the story, most of the music, nostalgia factor, atmosphere, creaky N64 graphics and the shock of the Adult Link/Time travel thing), but I thought it was good except for a couple of annoying bits (the horseback and carrige and the Palace of Twilight), I think I'd give it an 8.6/10.

I couple of things I 'd like to point out:
You said it was a Wii game but it was originally designed for the Gamecube.
You DO sound too much like Yahtzee, sorry.

I thought the game was awesome. Thoroughly enjoyed the story and getting all the little heart pieces didn't feel like a boring monotonous job. Also, the end fight was really cool and so was that cowboy bit.

I think the biggest problem is that Zelda games seem to not be for you. I know that I'd hate Call of Duty 4 so I won't ever buy it and won't review it because I know that I have an opinion about shooters that won't correlate with many other people, so my review would basically say "If you don't like shooters you won't like this shooter." Well duh.

Also, it's a Gamecube game that was ported to the Wii also. So the graphics are quite nice considering.

Despite popular belief, Yahtzee did not invent reviews, or hyperbole, or simile. It is quite possible to speak English without ripping off Yahtzee.

Good review, joethekoeller. You included a lot of information about the game. You made good points about what you didn't like, and backed them up with facts. If I was on the fence, your review would help me decide if I needed to purchase it.

The major complaints you have about Twilight Princess are true of every Zelda game, but not to the degree that they are present in Twilight Princess, which is my least favorite of the series. I have been crucified several times for saying so. I encourage you to try the games other people have mentioned: they are much better.

More reviews please!
