It will be brief, but still better than nothing.

The former [https://www.gamespot.com/articles/resident-evil-2-remake-1-shot-demo-releases-soon-a/1100-6464244/], hence ?1-Shot?. Not sure what the point of the limit is though, since once downloaded it?s not like it?s stressing the servers and whatnot.Casual Shinji said:So I'm still confused about this - is this demo only going to give you 30 minutes, afterward it'll lock up the demo and you won't be able to play it again, or is it just 30 minutes and then back to the main menu so you can have another (30 minute) try? Cuz if it's the former, fuck that.
Yeah, I might as well wait the few weeks pick up the game I nearly finished the pre-order for. Goddamn it Capcom, why do you make these dumb ass decisions?hanselthecaretaker said:The former [https://www.gamespot.com/articles/resident-evil-2-remake-1-shot-demo-releases-soon-a/1100-6464244/], hence ?1-Shot?. Sadists.
I can already see it happening today.Majestic Manatee said:Prediction: there will be a mysterious surge of new yet briefly active PSN accounts created over this period
How disappointing. Especially after watching this. [https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=B0rBXQiwCq0]Casual Shinji said:Played it, it's fine so far, guns feel weak though. Both the handgun and the shotgun sound too soft and don't have much punch to them - Not much satisfaction when bullet hits target. The movement feels similar to Revelations as well. It doesn't have the solid heft and impact of Resident Evil 4 or even classic Resi.
The loosey goosey-nes of how enemies react to your shots and how you can blast them to pieces is pretty cool, but I'm always a big stickler for feedback, and this game doesn't do it that well. Yeah, that deliciously beefy shotgun feel isn't really there.hanselthecaretaker said:How disappointing. Especially after watching this. It's a remake of Resident Evil 2, so I would imagine it's going to have at least a few of the weapon upgrades the original had. Leon's gun in REmake 2 is even already called the Matilda. It'd be a cruel joke if Capcom threw that name in there, and then didn't give us the 3-shot burst upgrade.Catfood220 said:The other gripe being that I think Leon's gun fires ball bearings for all the damage it does. I don't want to one shot everything, but come on, it shouldn't take that many bullets to take down one zombie. I hope there are going to be better guns and ammo in the game, hopefully being sold by a mysterious merchant. Or an option to upgrade the gun, though that doesn't seem likely.
Honestly its been years since I played RE2 on the N64, I don't remember that much about it other than story. But now you mention it, that 3 burst shot upgrade was very helpful, I would like to see others though to give Leon's gun a bit more punch to it.Casual Shinji said:It's a remake of Resident Evil 2, so I would imagine it's going to have at least a few of the weapon upgrades the original had. We'll have to see. From other footage it seems Claire also gets the grenade launcher, so maybe they'll keep the set-up of Leon getting the handgun, shotgun, magnum, with upgrades for each, and Claire getting the handgun, bowgun, grenade launcher, with ammo types for the latter. They'll probably wanna switch some things up though.Catfood220 said:Honestly its been years since I played RE2 on the N64, I don't remember that much about it other than story. There was a shottygun in one of the police lockers you could equip which separated heads from zombie torso like you wouldn't believe. Saying that, a couple of zombo heads took the first round like a champ. I only knew of shotty the gun from cheating and watching a stream before playing. But it is a one time demo, and time limits are kryptonite to me, causing flustered panic in such a way that it wasn't enjoyable to be honest. I agree with Shinji the feedback from the weapons felt like peashooters, resurfacing memories of the Saint's Row series disappointing waste of interesting weaponry. All it would take is a bit of extra fine-tuned controller vibration to fix. The two factor authorisation for ammo you need is annoying in a small way too.Catfood220 said:Ok, so I played it, I didn't get very far, my innate instinct to explore everywhere ironically hindered my exploring of this demo. My first impression was that the default aiming sensitivity is insanely high, so I had to turn that down. My second impression was that Leon said "Jesus!" a lot and was about to make fun of him for it, then a zombie came and tried to eat my arse and I said the same thing. So I will let you off this time Leon. I found it scary, at least the first encounter is, for me it ended with lots of panicked shots being fired and running like a little girl. But then I am a wuss and am easily scared.
A couple of things bugged me though. The first being that every time I picked up some ammo, the game asked me if I wanted to add it to the ammo I already had. Yes game, add it to the pile. If I didn't want it, I wouldn't of picked it up. The other gripe being that I think Leon's gun fires ball bearings for all the damage it does. So yeah, I liked it well enough, couple of little niggles that may or may not be solved in the full game. I'm not sure about picking it up on day one, there wasn't enough time to make my mind up either way, but I'll pick it up at some point.
