Resident evil 5 gold edition costume dlc problems

I just bought res 5 gold edition on psn which comes with all the dlc and i went to use the dlc costumes. but i could only select chris bandit costume and shiva business costume I can't use the armor or red riding hood costumes. can anyone help me? do i need to complete the game or something?

Judging by what I read here:

Those costumes might only be useable in the Mercenaries Reunion mode.

There will be two new costumes in the Mercenaries Reunion for both Chris and Sheva if you download the respective costume packs.

For Chris there are the new "Warrior" and "Heavy Metal" costumes, while Sheva Alomar has the "Fairytale" costume which is based off the character B.B. Hood (Bulleta in Japan) from CAPCOM's Darkstalkers and a "Business" costume which resembles the appearance of Ingrid Hannigan.

That's the best I've got, considering I actually know nothing about the subject since I only played vanilla RE5 back when it was originally released. Someone else could likely explain more/better than I can.

You have to beat the game once (any difficulty) before dressing the characters in silly costumes.

Sheva's 'Business', 'Clubbin' and 'Fairy Tale' attires are unlocked by beating the game. Her 'Tribal' outfit is unlocked by shooting all BSAA medallions (30) AND beating the game. You don't need to shoot all medallions in a single play-through, you can replay past chapters to shoot the ones you missed.

Same deal with Chris. Beat the game to unlock and wear his 'Heavy Metal', 'Warrior' and 'Safari' costumes. You can also unlock his 'STARS' outfit by shooting 25 BSAA medallions, same deal as Sheva's 'Tribal' outfit.
