Retailer Rage!

I've never been as obsessed to get my hands on a game other than Dark Souls, it just looks so intriguing but that's not the point. Over the weekend, I decided that I was going to buy it from GAME while I was in town as it's my first choice for buying games but when I got there, it was all sold out. This surprised me to say the least but I shrugged it off and went to another GAME close by but they didn't have it either.

After two failed attempts, I finally decided to try HMV and and the extremely desperate option, Tescos, and guess what... THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT EITHER! However, the strange thing was that they had plenty of copies for PS3 but not for the 360.

Needless to say, I was annoyed and my Dark Souls lust has only been building up while I wait for the next weekend. Has anything infuriating like this happened to you folks with regards to gaming shops or anything of the like.

Huh...and to think I had dark souls pegged as a niche release that was going to gain a cult following but not really gain that much popularity.

I managed to get my hands on a pre-owned limited edition a couple of days ago. Barely.

I haven't really had retailer rage much...

Yeah, everywhere ran out pretty quick. This was unexpected popularity. The line from GAME is "we get our next delivery in a month. try ordering from our website". So yeah, I don't know. Maybe get a copy from your internet retailer of choice?

It's popularity has really surprised me too, and that can only be a very good thing.

It will be very interesting to see the sales figures if they're released.

Well here in Bulgaria, originally, we didn't have Space Marines. After a while there was a Pre-Order for the PS3 and Xbox, but no PC. So I ordered it from Amazon.UK via a friend. When I finished it, the website for the store said that it HAD Space Marine, but when I actually went there, THEY DIDN'T ... man was I pissed.

Sounds a lot like the Wii on its initial holiday launch really. Thoguh OT, no, i havent. usually if a store doesnt have something, I just look around and another store will, or at least online will. Its not worth the stress of it all.

As much as I love RAGING on video game retailers, particularly Gamestop, I can't help but feel like this particular situation could have been (potentially) completely avoided by securing a preorder in advance.

Generally speaking if there's a game I'm obsessed with coming out soon, I make sure to preorder it so that I can be reasonably sure I'll have a copy in my hands on release day.
