We all have our favourite games. Ones that have been there with us since we just started playing video games, they have stood by us like a family pet or that guy who has been in a sports team you support since you started watching them.
However, like Old yeller, Seabuscuit, or david beckham, there comes a time when they are just too old, too sick or too broken to carry on. Although you have many good memories with them, they are now on borrowed time, suffering and making you suffer.
Although you are sad, you know it is the right thing to do when you take them out to the green pastures.
And by that, I mean two shots to the face behind the glue factory.
Same with games. Final Fantasy producers should stop what they are doing now as they are starting to retroactively ruin the good games they made about 8 sequels ago. Laura was great, that doesnt mean we want a new one after all these years. Minesweeper is was amazing when it came out, its still addictive, do we want them making a new minesweeper? no.
Survival horror can be just about anything, a plethora of new locales and game universes await, why stick with silent hill?
what games would you stop them making, because you love what they already have?
