An engine?

What walks on 4 legs in the morning...
...2 during the day...
...and 3 during the evening?

By the way: My riddle was "anchor" but I have to admit, "grenade" works too...

Morning represents a Baby, moving on legs and arms. 4
Day is a grown person, walking on 2 legs. 2
And evening is an old person using a stick to help them walk. 3

As I was going to St. Ives, I met a man with seven wives. Each wife had seven sacks. Each sack had seven cats. Each cat had seven kits. Kits, cats, sacks, wives. How many were going to St. Ives?

Here's one: Your a cop in L.A., who do you chase, the car who just ran a red light, or the Latino man running after the car yelling "I'll kill you."
