He thinks characters like the PTSD-ridden war veteran, the superhero, or the Buddhist monk fit poorly into the ensemble of Happy Tree Friends because they all have the capacity (and propensity) to easily kill other characters, while the original concept of the show was to have the characters die in gruesome, albeit accidental, manners, manners that do not involve the supernatural either.
Anyway, I was never a fan of HTFs, but I do remember enjoying a few of the Flippy episodes. Mostly because he was put in mundane situations and then something innocent would make him flip out and gruesomely kill the other innocent characters. Mind you, I probably watched 5 or 6 episodes total. It was never my cup of tequila. Take that how you will.
