If you don't get what I'm saying, I mean all of those people who think they're frightfully original by having their names as "XIXI [Insert pretentious version of existing word with Is and Zs where there shouldn't be here) XxX" or "iTz [name]x". People who think they're far, far more skilled than they actually are and are usually characterised by irritating stupid names with lots of Xes. I'm not joking, but I have seen loads of people called "LOGIKZ" with various different amounts of Xs and Zs around the internet, and lots of people with similar names to these. It appears "SNIPER" is also a common one, when 99.9% of all of them never touch the sniper rifles. (Remember, 60% of all statistics are made up on the spot, and 80% of the time, it works all the time!)

Most online names annoy me, but I don't mind it as much on an online game as I do on AIM. I hate it when my friends have lame ass screen names

It was something like DEATHFROMTHEMIST.

I also saw someone called CoolJamesBob. Not so pretentious as just plain stupid.

I absolutely hate those names. Ususally 13 year old kids who think they're 'pro' and end up sucking badly.

The thing that makes me laugh is that most of them are just variants of the same name. e.g. Snipez, Opticz, Quickshotz, Magicz.

I really want to go into a full on rant but it's honestly not worth my time.

If I ever run a server, I will have a rule; if you have more than TWO letters in your name that do not appear on a standard keyboard, I kick you.

I was pretty suprised to find "The Red Spy" free on here. If this was taken I'd of chosen 'Lemonka' or something similar.

I'm failing to understand how an unoriginal name qualifies as 'pretentious'.
Though I'm quite sure of it's meaning already, let me Google the definition to double check...

*Checks*

Yeah I'm not sure 'pretentious' is the right word.
Now if you said 'ostentatious'? That would be bang on, I think.

But, to stay on topic, I despise those names.
But I like them, because I read them as they are when playing online. It makes for funny conversation:

"Look out X-X-S-One-N-P-Three-R-X-X! There is a guy over there!"
"Man, I'm already dead!"
"Oh sorry, it's hard to say your name."

Bwahaha! I love that part of those stupid names!

I forgot to add.

If I ever see anyone with 'iTz' in their gamertag I always ask them if they're in the iTz clan (of Halo fame). Unsurprisingly they never respond.

I refuse names that are anything less than properly spelled words or correct names themselves.
I've seen my brother's contact list on Live; everything was "D347H" And xXxXxNamexXxXx.
Very disappointing.

People who use xXx in their name are often straight edge (sXe) and xXx is a symbol of that. The same applies to a lot of people who put x[name]x in their name.

Oh yes, I believe that 1/2 of all people on Xbox Live are from there.
