So, tomorrow at 7 AM my time, I'm leaving to go on a 9 hour road trip to Chattanooga, TN for JAMPcon 2010. It's going to be me, my boyfriend, and 2 of my best friends. The question is this escapists, has anyone ever taken a road trip with friends, or do you plan on it at some point in the future?

I plan to go on a road trip someday.

Across Europe hopefully with some friends and several crates of beer.

I once road tripped with my boyfriend at the time. He was driving and I fell asleep. Didn't help that we apparently HAD to listen to the one CD the entire 5 hour drive. Repetition makes me sleepy.

I haven't, but I have always wanted to, so understandably I'm rather jealous of you right now. I think they would be much more fun to do in America/canada than in England, you just have so much more space to explore and venture out to. Though one day I do hope to go to America for a few months and go around and explore the various places, in the perfect world starting with E3.

I hate the road, so it's probably not a good idea.

I prefer to find me a music fest with lotsa booze. Then I drink... drink... drink...

Wait. What were we talking about?

I've gone on a road trip with my family, and we are planning to go on another one this summer. I don't really like being in a car for so long, but it's (sometimes) fun to be with them.

I've always wanted to go to E3 as well...maybe someday...

Yeah, me and my friends have talked about hitting up on all the major gaming conventions: first we'd go to Cali and get into E3 in the summer(hopefully it won't be invitation only when we do), then go north to Washington for PAX Prime since it's usually held around August, then quickly go back south to Cali for Blizzcon (also held around August), take a plane to Tokyo and hit up the Tokyo Game Show in Sept, and maybe get back to NY in time for the fall New York/Big Apple Anime Festival. We call this "Pilgamerige".

I've done a number of road trips and they are one of my favorite things to do. I love the adventures and after enough time has passed, even the mishaps take on a glowy, mythic aura. I love all the new people you meet, even the creepy ones.

Have a great trip and try not let all the little things that will go wrong get to you. They're just little things and no matter how cliched this is, it is the journey, not the destination, that matters. And take lots of pictures (and post them here!)

In August I'm taking 2 weeks to drive the California coast, starting in LA and going as far as we go. There's a couple places we'll stop at for sure but mostly we'll just go.

Lol, we're about to get into college too. Hopefully we plan to do this after college, like a sort of reunion/roadtrip thing.

However, my personal roadtrip would be to fly to Hong Kong, get into China, work my way across the Eurasian continent, and end my roadtrip in Britain.

Nice, me and my friends are doing this before college, cause once I leave, I'll be over 10 hours away from my best friend...and 5 hours away from my boyfriend...*sad face*

Anyone wanna do an epic road trip this year. I have literally zero plans until October 2011. As stated in my 'So, I have a year to waste thread'. Major escapist road trip anyone?

Nah, I've seen too many horror movies and teenie comedies to appreciate road trips.
Although I now want to chase a kangaroo with hoodie and sunglasses through Australia... no srsly, Australia'd be nice.
