so Ubisoft have come out with a game called rocksmith which is similar to guitar hero/ rock band except instead of using a plastic controller, you can now plug your guitar directly in to the console and play. But the question is, how well could a game like this do in the market. will it be a success?

Using an actual guitar? I smell control issues galore.

Sounds like Ubisoft threw the gauntlet down on all those plastic plonking posers.

I'm surprised, as this seems way too niche for any company to bother with.

granted it could also be sold as a training kit for learning to play the guitar.

Would it really be necessary for someone who has, say, the internet?

It is being sold as a training kit, rather then just press 5 buttons to play songs, it'll actually teach you how to play the guitar, and level the notes based on how well you already play. It's suppose to even have a free mode that lets you use the system as an amp and play how ever you want, with random practice exercises and such. I actually hope it does well and that they put enough thought into truly teaching someone how to play, I'm looking forward to it myself.

It looks like a really neat idea, but I honestly couldn't see myself paying 60 dollars for it.

Are you serious? That sounds like the best thing ever! All the addictive gameplay of guitar hero while you are actually improving your real guitar playing. And I don't even have to buy an expensive controller, I already have one!

If this is real and it works, I'm so getting it.
