Speak of the devil. I just suggested a STALKER inspired Metro in another thread seconds ago.

The images on the computer screens don't look like metro images. They are too colorful? I get a alien feel from them.

The game is probably still deep in development and we have no idea what we're actually looking at on those screens.

Maybe there are still a lot of (usually brightly colored) placeholder textures? Maybe proper lighting isn't implemented yet? Maybe those are just testing environments and not representative of the final product? Et cetera.

There are any number of reasons why it doesn't look like Metro (yet). And that's assuming we're actually looking at a Metro game in development.

Ooh, I'm super into this if true. Fingers definitely crossed for another Metro game, but they're good developers so I'll give anything they make a fair look.

Edit: ah, reading thread titles with tired eyes is a bad idea!

I quite enjoyed Metro 1 enhanced or whatever the update was renamed, more so than the actual original for some reason. I kinds stopped halfway through two,i think it just felt a bit samey by then. I'm guessing they will try to make it open world as that's what all franchises seem to want to do these days, can't say I'd be all that interested in something like that.

If the game is ready to announce, then it would look at least some what like how it should look. Or else what are they going to announce. Just a title?

Who knows, maybe they're teaming up with CD Projekt Red for a spiritual successor to Stalker.

Like I said, we don't know what is actually on those screens. I've had the fortune of visiting a few developers offices and seeing some WIP games, including a few that were only a couple weeks away from release. Depending on what someone is working on, it might look quite different from what we'll see in the finished product. Sometimes it doesn't even look like a game, but a to the untrained eye unintelligeble mess of wireframes and flatshaded tectures in one window, code in another and yet more stuff I didn't even recognize in a third.
