Several professional gamers and commentators from the eSports community recently claimed they have been contacted by Valve to come at their Washington HQ to playtest a new game the hat fetishists hard-working folks at Valve have been working on.
There have been rumours floating around since yesterday about Valve working on a new game, which is most certainly not Episode 3 (sorry guys!), but a hypothetical new Counter-Strike, dubbed Global Offensive, and due for the first quarter of 2012. Whether it is a major engine and content update for the existing Counter-Strike: Source or a brand new game.
However it seems like this "rumour" might be just true and have something to it, because the eSports community invitees took the time to take a few pictures and post them on <url=https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=232450140124815&set=a.162198557149974.27010.155305737839256&type=1&theater>Facebook.
Moreover, Valve have not yet said anything about this new game, and a number of topics started popping up on the <url=http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2053144>SteamPowered forums in the last few hours. Also, Jess Cliffe, the creator of the original Counter-Strike, even posted a comment in the aforementioned SteamPowered forums' thread, correcting the original post and confirming the game would be called "Global Offensive" instead of the erroneous "Global Operation".
Stay tuned, folks, this might just get really interesting.
