Welp, Mikeyfell's RWBY volume 3 review is out:

it pointed out a lot of things and I will list three of them
-the First fight is actually horrible with a lot of characters standing around waiting for their turn, poor use of motion, bad continuity of action, too many reaction shots
-The plot Cinder makes doesn't work because if stress and negativity causes the grimm to advance, that seeing people lose the tournament would affect that nation, the negativity of the grimm should cause issues.
-Someone did math on Mercury's movements and the force generated by his kicks and found that it's around billion jules with an acceleration equal to 100 times the sun's gravity.

On a personal level, i still see the competence of the fighters to be poor; the students aren't even a match for Tao when even the equivalent in soul eater can actually put up a fight and even the veteran fighters don't feel equal to Jin. In addition, the Velvet fight makes me rage as they either copied Emiya Shirou for lazy inspiration or just decided to recycle animation for the sake of time saving. Lastly, I find the turn to darkness to be unfounded and poorly done compared to Madoka as the show didn't forshadow it enough and wanted to just make it darker

RWBY lost my interest with it's crappy pacing and paying little to no respect for particular characters.

For example, when all the main characters (Ruby, Weiss, Blake, Yang) were sitting at the lunch table in Season 1 ... and they saw Velvet getting physically harassed by some guys. First off, Blake should of shown WAY more anger / emotion seeing another Faunus being treated like crap. Also, the fact the girls didn't lift a finger to help someone being yanked by the ears- pushed around really didn't sit well with me. Aren't they supposed to be heroes, fighting for people's rights and slaying monsters that threaten humanity?

That would be like Superman, Batman, Wonderwoman and the Flash seeing Robin pushed around by some strangers ... and didn't do crap to help him. It breaks the immersion, and screams to me 'the writers didn't care to keep our girls in character'.

The show lost my interest pretty fast, and seeing how the Seasons went ... they didn't exactly get better. Improved, yes, but not enough to tolerate the many cons resting on it's mantle. Until I see significant changes and improvements, i'll continue avoiding it.
You still butthurt over that????

OT- Who is Mikeyfell and why should I cared?

I'm not dimissing his review since I fully aware of the many flaws the show has but I'm ain't watching 2 and a half hours on stuff I probably already know.

RWBY has me in two minds. Half of me wants to insert knitting needles into my eyes and ears to make it go away. The other half is a grinning lunatic that loves how stupid it is. Mostly it just makes me annoyed my ability to write literature is fairly poor, because f I could actually write I'd be knocking out a novel length fan fiction faster than you could say "but that's just the plot of Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy repurposed for use in-universe".

I enjoyed the hell out of season 3 and am eagerly awaiting season 4. Each season seems to be better than the last, so I see no reason to be concerned for the show's future at this time. The fact that some people don't like it is no concern of mine. For you, Izanagi, all I can wonder at is why you seem to have such a vested interest in criticizing this show. Every season, every episode you seem to make a topic about how bad it is. Your opinions are your own, but this seems almost personal for you.

Also, not sure why it took sooooooo long for this review of season 3 to be posted. It's been months since the season ended. And why is it 2.5 hours long?! The season itself is shorter than that!

I've been kind of ignoring all the hate thrown at RWBY. If you think it's bad here, check out completely unmoderated places like imdb forums, which is just generally a sewer.

Really I see the narrative and character shortfalls, but I enjoy some of the comedy bits and the over the top action... and the versatility of Jeff Williams music. The only real problem I had with it was I did watch the Red trailer first. The action is as big and bombastic as that trailer... but it is completely bloodless compared to the Red trailer. Otherwise even having watched the trailers 1st, I wasn't disappointed by RWBY which these days... as many disappointing things as have come out recently... its more than enough. Its not even in the guilty pleasure category, I've told several friends about RWBY. some liked it, and some didn't.
