Well, since it's out, I might as well give my impressions on the RWBY volume 4 opening:
The music component will be the first to be covered. The song itself seems a lot more generic to me for some reason, like i've heard the chord structure or melody from some shonen anime. That said, it's tone does mean that we will start reconstructing the story of RWBY to be a bit more of a bittersweet but with a happy ending. This is supported by the lyrics which talk about the story not being a bedtime story but a tragedy but that we should "just live".
The visuals starts by showing us what the cast has been doing. Ruby has been exploring with the remainder of JNPR. Weiss seems to be studying while dealihg with her summoning power; my theory is that it causes some sort of feedback. Blake seems to be traveling with Sun and two others on a boat; they seem to be related to Blake as she seems to give a soft smile when with them. Yang has PTSD involving Adam cutting her arm and, judging by seeing her father as her old self, she might have confidence issues.
Next, we get a view of the villains; call me unimpressed. Besides Cinder, who has a scar on her face, the other three look like generic villain archetypes; the bruiser, the psychopath, and the plotter. My issues with the villains of this show still remain: they don't have anyone with the impact of a Makishima or Liebert villain or a Dio Brandy for a more fun counterpart due to them not having developed Cinder and adding new villains help.
The last portion shows some fights and a classic "stand while facing the distance" shot. this is standard for RWBY openings so nothing to really report
All and all, I'm more receptive to this opening compared to the volume 3 opening but the show itself still might disappoint.
