Now i have your attention, what do you think about it in games?
is it unnessecary? should it be removed? is it maybe a nice touch of realism?
If its on an 18 rated game should it be more explixit even?

I personally think its all a bit pointless, other than to get me achievables on the Xbox i dont normally bother with romance/sex in games (though i did the threesome in fable 2 for a laugh and got the achievment on accident :p)

If it is actually important to the plot then it's ok. Although I'm struggling to think of a game that warrants it's use now.

It depends. If it's used in a specific way, it can be acceptable.

I feel it's like the argument of nudity in art. If an art piece is like "here are some breasts, but I wish you'd look at the main part of this piece", I think that's okay. But if a piece is like "look at these Tits!" that's not ok. I'm looking mostly at the so-called 'artistic nude' section on DeviantArt for this.

It's similar in games. If a game has a player smothering his face in between a female character's cleavage in an extreme-close-up of the character's chest, then that's obviously not a decent way to go about this. I'm not too sure on a good example of sex in games (Mass Effect, maybe? I said MAYBE.), but I think there will come a point where it can be done tastefully and acceptably. Probably when the industry stops focusing on the hooting teenage beer-drinking party-boy demographic.

Why?

Now then it depends on what you're talking about. Do you simply mean sex as an act to be shown through video games such as how Mass Effect 1 and 2 had 'sex' scenes (although those can hardly be called that)? Those? They are unnecessary. I feel like they're there just for the pandering to many (I assume it's predominantly male, but hey females can enjoy it too) fantasies of seeing the character they play as having sex. I honestly don't think it would have made much of a difference to me whether I saw Miranda in a bra, or if the game simply blacked out and put "So Shepard and Miranda had sex. It was awesome."

Now the mere inclusion saying that two characters had sex, well that's a perfectly acceptable thing to have if it fits in the context of the story within the game.

I really don't care if sex is in video games. I'm 30. Bring it on.

I just want some implication that my character did it with the other guy. I don't really care about badly rendered dicks. Or do I? Hmm...

Personally, I think it's silly, but games are ultimately about fanatsy and escapism allowing us to do any and everything from being the biggest, gun-toting badass taking on scores aliens on distant planets to playing as the '72 Dolphins to re-live the perfect season. Ultimately, there's going to be a demographic of folks whose "escape" is going to be scoring hot chicks/dudes and banging them...

Sure? I guess if the game's plot somehow was bettered by the idea of sex, sure, why not. If it's in there just for fun and to make a profit, then no.

If it's not 1) A sex based game or 2) Essential to the plot then it doesn't really have a place. Same as film, tv, etc..

What a ridiculous question.

I don't really see much need for it to be honest, games are for the interaction and the idea of being forced to interact with a bunch of pixels on your tv screen is just disturbing.

If it fits into the context of the story then yes. I think it is done well in games like Dragon Age Origins. It is implied and shown to some extent, but I don't really need a full blown pixel sex scene to get my rocks off or anything. Although, I found it amusing for my male elven mage to get it on with Zevran.

I don't care if sex is in a game or not.

I'm in my 30's so it's not really a concern for me.

As long as the game is good and I get to swing a massive axe at someone's face or shoot them in the gut i'm not bothered.

..Sex in games? Sure. Rendered sex cutscenes? No. No real reason to do that except fan service. Or catering to little boys.

If there's the implication that sex is happening, that's really as far as it needs to go. Otherwise it just comes off as a cheap trick to get people to play/remember the game. Or a marketing decision...?

Either way, if we can see it, it's bad. You want tits, there're plenty on the internet to see.

If its warrented, sure. That said, I liked how ME1 handled the sex scenes, artistic, leaving most to the imagination and not just some dodgy looking hardcore alien porn.

I think sex in games could be useful if done right, but so far there hasn't been a game that's done it correctly

It's pretty much useless in almost every game, and potentially hazardous to the perspective of our hobby from the outside. It needs to be more heavily restricted, almost to the point of non-inclusion.
I disagree, if we want our medium to be taken seriously we need as much sex in our videogames as in other media. Otherwise we'll continue to propagate the image of videogames as being only for children. Comic books used to have that same problem. Eventually they got rid of their own fear of mature content and now there are a few comic books widely accepted as serious works of art (e.g. Watchmen which featured quite a few juicy sex scenes.)
