While I'm not a fan of the franchise but I do got to say it does look good being given the updated animation treatment. It look more vibrant (colours) compared to the old series.

I don't watch much anime anymore, but I want this badly. Why doesn't anime get released to iTunes/Amazon?

So gonna watch the shit out of this as soon as it comes out! Right now I'll have to bide my time by reading the manga back to back.
Also, I really loved that part in the end where Sailor Moon did the pose and said that Japanese thing, which I assume is Japanese for "Mew Mew Style! Mew Mew Grace! Mew Mew Power in your face!"

The animation in this new series appears to be an interesting marriage of the old art style and the newer styles you see in modern anime. I was also relieved that they all weren't sporting a D cup now. Even though I have mostly retired from watching anime I might check this out.
Thoughts:
1) Oh God no, they kept the super gigantic eyes so popular in 90's anime.
2) The trailer didn't reveal a whole lot besides that it looks like a back to basics sailor moon.
3) The music at the end had an uncharacteristically wicked guitar riff. Like, for real.

Actually they have two, though one just showed up in a non-canon short story that takes place in a parallel universe with no ties to the actual story. =PJohnny Novgorod said:

OT: I saw the trailer not too long ago, I've been super hype for this since I found out they were remaking it. Like a lot of girls this was what got me into anime. Even before I knew what anime was.
I've also heard this one is supposed to be more true to the manga, which means it is certainly going to have it's differences from the first anime. That is for certain.
I think you misunderstood me. What i meant was that these newer sailor scouts aren't busty which you see more often in modern anime. It seems aside from that fact that newer style makes them prettier, the people behind this project aren't going for fan service crap like larger beasts. which is good since the original didn't have that either.mecegirl said:Now? Anyways... yeah, not too much to go on, even with this trailer. Still totally going to check this out, though. Sailor Moon was part of the trinity that got me into anime in the first place (the other two being Dragonball Z and Pokemon).
I still don't like the CLAMP designs, it makes them look too spindly.
And are they finally going to make these Sailor Scouts... you know, actual capable fighters? Because all they seemed to do in the original series was get their asses kicked like a bunch of girls, till Tuxedo Mask came and saved the day.

I gotta say, I didn't really like that trailer. Although I never watched the original series so maybe that's why. Not a whole lot happened beyond "here they are!".
