Sandwiches are a great thing. They can be as unhealthy, or as healthy as you want. They can be as simple, or as intricate as you want. They come in so many forms: subs, on bread, on a single piece of bread, on a cracker base, in wraps, the list goes on. So, lets pay homage to the sandwich. What is your favorite sandwich? What is a good sandwich? Any good vegetarian/vegan sandwiches? Where can you get the best sandwiches?

I really enjoy a good Monte Cristo sandwich (A ham sandwich with Swiss cheese and fried served with raspberry jam) It's such a weird combinations of flavors that it just comes together perfectly for me.
Some other favorites of mine are Philly Cheese steak, BLT, Peanut butter honey and banana, Tuna melt, and a good old grilled cheese. Just to name a few.

Pulled pork is my favorite food of all time, and the italian beef, croque madame, and banh mi are all very high on my list as well, not to mention the consistent excellence of a solid grilled cheese or PBJ. Sandwiches are wonderful.

If you're actually looking for a vegetarian sandwich, then maybe a banh mi with tofu? Although banh mis are hard to find, so good luck. Otherwise, grilled cheese and tomato? Just tomato? I can't help you. I like meat

There seems to be a lack of knowledge of sandwiches that don't use meat. A good ham and cheese is good for me most days. But, on some days I feel adventurous and vegetarian foods can offer the most exotic tastes sometimes.

I like making ham, egg, and cheese sandwiches.

You start by toasting some bread. Put a very slight amount of butter under one piece and top it with a piece of cheese (provolone or swiss do well). Keep the toast pieces separate for now.

Then you cook an egg (preferably over-easy) with a pinch of salt and pepper.

During this time, get a thick piece of ham. Smoke-house or real expensive ham work best. Put a piece of paper towel between the ham and plate, and microwave it for a minute on high until it takes on a concave shape. Put ham on other slice of toast.

Take the egg and put it on the ham. It will fit snugly in the little concave/dish shape of the meat.

Put cheesy-slice of toast over egg to complete sandwich.

Serve with tomato bisque, french onion soup, or clam chowder.

Can also be served with chips.

The perfect sandwich would have whole grain bread, three layers. It would have lettuce, olives/sun-dried tomatoes or pickles/gherkins and a sauce of my choice on the first layer. On the bottom half it would have fried egg and a meat of my choice. Add cheese and chips if necessary.

I love sandwiches, they are my all time favorite good, there are so many fantastic varieties of the sandwich. It's magical.

Anyway, my perfect sandwich is some turkey meat (like actual breast meat, not sliced deli turkey) with bacon, lettuce tomato and a bit of mayo/MW on ciabatta bread.

I'm actually planning on having a Sandwich for dinner. Fresh white bread (I know it's unhealthy but it tastes sooo good), silverside, semi-dried tomatos and mustard. No cheese because I'm lactarded.

Philly Cheese Steak is my favorite and I make them when I get the chance, and it's pretty damn good despite the fact I do it without onions. I'm very picky about onions.

Tuna melts are what I normally make since they're easy to do and there's not a whole lot of clean up to do, plus I like to make them with enough mayo to make it not so sticky.

Peanut butter and cheese, that is all you need.

There are still people reading this thread instead of making sandwiches?

Ok then...

Mature cheddar and Marmite.

/thread.

Sandwich update. Unfortunately the oil from the semi-dried tomatoes overpowered the mustard and silverside. Still delicious but not perfect.

I quite like making sandwiches... particularly the following:

Layer 1 - Lettuce, tomato, ham & fried egg
Layer 2 - Cucumber, cheese, bacon & fried chicken slices

...

Yeah, that'll do for lunch...

Toasted Rye or Wholemeal Bread, three layers. Layer one is roast beef, cheddar cheese, thinly sliced cucumber and grated carrot. Layer two is tuna mixed with a dash of Tabasco, grated Swiss cheese and sliced beetroot.

Savory sandwich heaven.

I pretty much like my sandwich to be white bread with ham, letture, cucumber, cheese slice and and abit of mayo in it.
Granted if I'm going to a non Subway shop for a sandwich I just order a ham butty (ham and butter sandwich).

Subway is the best place to buy a sandwich.

If I want to make one myself, I follow this diagram. Ingredients are placed in the order they are written here.

White Bread slice

Mayonnaise

Lettuce

Turkey

Turkey

Turkey

Pickles (x4)

Mayo

White Bread slice

Best sandwich I can make perfectly. I know some people can't stand mayo, but I love it.

Tomato and cheese; potato chips, cheese and pickled onions; salad sandwich; Lettuce tomato and cheese + mayo on a turkish bread, toasted; just beetroot; banana and honey (with peanut butter sometimes); vegemite and cheese, and uh...well everything else I missed.

And of course subway which'll be a footlong italian herbs and cheese or honey oat, filled with cheese, all the salads except pickles, and sotuhwest sauce, toasted.
