So, I have a female roommate and every night we alternate between horror movies and sappy romance movies. I need your guys' help deciding which movie to show her tomorrow to scare the crap out of her as punishment for making me watch "Bride Wars". Oh, and I already showed her "The Descent" and "Silence of the Lambs" so it will be tough.

Scary movies aren't really very scary. You should force her to play through the suffering for xbox. THAT is fuckin scary.

The Breakfast Club. She'll really hate that one. It's about a group of teenagers that are stuck in detention that then get picked off one by one by a sadistic headmaster and used in pagan sacrificial rituals. I don't want to give away the ending for fear of spoiling the major plot twist, but let's just say there are lots of explosions.[/sarcasm]

...and seriously, why don't you just compromise, and watch some decent movies that she likes too? There must be some...

Well look I lost my sense of fear at a young age when I was traumatised by the movie 'Pet Sematary' it scared me so much I had trouble sleeping for a month and so I would always stay awake until five in the morning when the sun was coming up then go to sleep. I wasn't eating right, I couldn't get the images out of my head and ultimately it was the most scared by a movie I had ever been and as intense as it was nothing compares to the fact that I never felt fear EVER again afterwards.
It wasn't fear, it was TRAUMA.

I haven't seen The Hills Have Eyes, but the ticket booth person said it's not recommended for people with heart problems.
I guess that means it's really fucking scary. For anyone who's seen the movie, do you agree with this?

Or you could just break the cycle and avoid possible years of watching horrible chick flicks.

Or you could just stab her.
I mean, it's what I'd do.
^This. Shanking is funsie

Anyway, I would just stop doing whatever deal you have with her... Then you should pour coconut milk into her bed sheets... and say you jacked off there.

28 Days Later at times scared me, and The Shining is quite a good film, not sure if you can class it as horror...

Show her "Requiem for a dream". Not a horror movie, not scary, but most likely to leave deep scars.

The moment she connects to any of the main characters, chances are that the film makes her traumatized and depressed for the rest of the day, at least.

In terms of Horror, maybe try REC. Very predictable, but due to a healthy dose of jump scares and the intimate first person perspective its still pretty scary.

I made my friend watch BBC's Ghostwatch for dropping my 6 pack. He now is scared of the dark.

Tetsuo: The Iron Man. There is no other option.

EDIT: Ooh! If you want something you can actually find at the video store, Takashi Miike's aborted (tee hee!) contribution to Masters of Horror: Imprint.
