I was recently talking to a friend and we being the manly men we are we began talking about scars. It eventually turned into who has the best story about how they got which scar competition. However this got me wondering what kind of stories you fine people have about how you got your scars.

I have around 30 scars that I know of and can tell you how I got them on my body but I'll just tell you about the best ones.

First is the scar I have on my left knee. This took 20 stitches to stitch up so you can guess this is a large one. What happened was I was standing on a small log in the forest near the house I grew up in. Logs enjoy hurting people and this one was no exception to this rule, so it rolled out from under my feet. I fell and laded knee first on a large, sharp piece of wood sticking out of the log. The piece off wood snapped off in my knee. I now have a scar about that streches across half my knee and is the width of my thumb.

The other story I like to tell is about my fist scar. I was about 10 and on this particular day I had just gotten a new book,Maralfox by Brian Jacques and had been pulled into the world of the Redwall series. My brothers were more rambunctious that day and had stripped the entire house of all it's mattresses, pillows, and cushions and had built forts from which they were trowing table legs at each other. Of course I being so sucked in to the adventures the residents of Redwall Abby were having I didn't notice until it was too late that I had waked into the middle of a war zone. I got hit in the face with a fucking table leg that knocked me out and gave me a big ass gash just above my mouth. it took four stitches to close it.

So friends tell me about your scar and injury stories, whether they be full of adventure and daring, or as simple as cutting yourself with a butter knife you were using to peel an orange (I don't even know why this seemed like a good idea) I want to hear them.

I love your avatar.
OT:When I was 7 I was playing under a set of bleachers. On one pass I ran straight into the edge of a metal support beam. I Impaled my leg on said beam. I have a sacr about an inch long and a centimeter wide right below my knee.

I have a scar on my forehead because I split it open when I walked into a wall when I was two.
I was a highly intelligent child.

All the males in my immediate family have scars somewhere around their eyes. Family tradition I guess. I got a small one under my left one from childhood.

I have a scar on the top of my thigh where a horse fell backwards and crushed me between it and the bonnet of a car. That's the only one I've got, and I treasure it.

I have a scar just above my left eye from when I was 3 and tripped over my dads shoes and hit my head on the corner of the table. I also have a few small ones on my hands from cutting myself on stupid sharp dog cans and many from self harm that I hope will go away in time.

on my arm i got burned with an industrial sized muffin tray that shifted the wrong way.

my left knee was from roller blading while delivering newspapers(never realized how many houses had stairs.)
my right knee was from running with my dog on a long strip of an abandoned run way. i still have no clue what i tripped on.
one on my hand when using an older hot glue gun. (they were not concerned with children safety stuff. that glue was so fucking hot!)

so mine are not manly but i try and avoid danger.

Lets see... My most recent healed scar is on my left pointing finger, I closed my knife (It is very sharp) on it, that was only 2 stitches, but I cut a nerve and do not feel on the side of the finger (I am also left hand dominant).
-I have some soon to be scars from a bike accident 2 days ago, winter riding is fun, especially in an unfamiliar area with hidden rail tracks...
-I have one from a nail that went through my hand
-A fairly large burn on my left forearm from a muffler (long story)
-Acid burn on my right hand, some highly intelligent person did not remove his gloves going thorough a door and left acid on the handle (note, at a professional lab)
-Caustic burns (mostly invisible) in both hands, in HS we did not have gloves, someone was playing paper ball in the lab when I was filling a burette with 3 molar caustic. They bumped me, it spilled.
-Burn from quenching bronze. Miss-judged how hot it would be after oil and water quench, also a mold exploded setting my pants (fire resistant) on fire, no injury.
-Some random scars from football mostly on my back
-Random scars from biking.

I've got a scar over my left eye from falling over when I was 3. Not a very interesting story I know. I also have one on my left forearm from, get this, falling off a bus. I know....

However, that being said, I do have one good scar/scar story. The scar is commonly referred to as the "Hitler Scar" due to its positioning. There are two versions of the story as to how I got it:

I got it in a fight whilst defending a lady's honour from some hooligans
OR
I got drunk and climbed into a wheelie bin which subsequently crashed into a pavement.

I have a pretty noticeable scar near my left wrist and on my right hand. Both are remnants of very deep rat bites.

I have a pretty long but almost completely faded scar near my right elbow that I got when I was working at an industrial laundry. I had just waxed the mangle and was trying to slide the wax cloth over the counter at the end of the mangle -- I managed to get a cut from a sharp edge in the mangle's metal casing while doing that.

I kinda wish I had a scar in my face.

Lots of minor scars from cuts. Most on my fingers, amazingly.
None worth bragging about, but a few comes from a night when I was drunk. Had a glass bottle and wanted to try smashing it like in the movies. Swinged the bottle at some metal object and cut up my thumb.
We were in a park far away from the houses in the area, so I just used an empty cigarette pack to cover up my bleeding thumb. Was an intresting surprise the next day.

I only have one question, why do you want to know peoples injuries?

From the top of my head I remember
-Hitting my head on a coffee table when I was but a young child
-Neighbor kid threw softball, my hand misses
-Brother threw an ice frisbee and cut my lip
-hit in the head by a softball and a bat at a game
-running down something, I dont remember too well, and got a deep gash in my leg, still fuzzy
-hit in the head by another bat
-riding my bike in winter and twisted my knee
-riding my bike after it rained and chipped my teeth on pavement
-countless scars from being near or around cats, they hate me
-wrestling with my brother and twisted my knee
-screwing around with lighter fluid and butane and set my pants on fire
-using a table saw and someone bumped me and I have a nice scar where I could have lost my hand
-countless scraped knees
-a small scar from getting cracked in the face by a bull whip
-burn on my hands from napalm
then theres the intentional required obligations that were painful but not injuries, at least I know what its like to be maced.

The scars I have were one on my forehead after splitting my head open when crashing my bike into a lamp post.
The only other one I have is when I cut my leg open after sliding over a piece of glass in a field. (funny thing is, I still stood up and walked fine into I went and checked my leg, and then it started hurting like hell)

I have a Harry Potter-esque scar on my forehead from diving head-first into a rock. Was playing around with some friends in the water on holiday, and cracked my head open. Picked sea urchin thorns out of my forehead for about 2 weeks after that. Painful.

My arm bends the wrong way.

When I was 6 I fell off some scaffolding that was set up in a school playground as a climbing frame. On the way down I karate chopped one of the steel beams, accidently of course.

My arm broke badly, and even broke through the skin. The teachers who rushed me into the nurses office didn't realise because our school jumper was dark red. They only realised the extent of the damage when they found the jumper was snagged on something trying to take it off. Don't worry... I was pretty much out of it by then.

The surgeon did his best, and the arm works fine. However, one of the bones in the arm healed a bit differently, and is now a little longer than the other. So if if I hold it out straight, it kind of bends outwards in a pretty weird looking way.

And I also have a manly scar running the full length of my forearm :)
