Go back to when Marx and Engels started writing the Communist manifesto and convince them otherwise. Or kill them. Thus saving the world from the worst scourge imaginable.

Go back to Nazi Germany and collect as many secret plans and blueprints as possible. I like their Uber-Weapons.

Or, if none of those are possible, I'd go back and meet Pavarotti. I liked the guy.

I would go back right before Dark Age of Camelot was released, explain to myself how epic this game will be, give him the computer to play and explain to my parents why I should quit school to dedicate my time to the game.

Or failing that, the birth of the universe would be a riot!

I'd go back in time and beat Jesus to Mary Magdaline. After an hour of planting seeds I'd return to the future and giggle to myself every time someone mentions the Da Vinci Code.

If I had a time machine I would go forward in time to see what happens(and get a super awesome system with future games). That doesn't seem to be an option. So, I would probably go back in time and give Hitler a wedgie, and then send him to art college with an all expense paid scholarship.

Or maybe I'd go back in time and have a talk with H.G. Wells...

I would FIRST arm myself with Books. With the help of some friends i would simplify these so people of earlier ages would understand them. In my version of these Books would be the basis of modern physics, biology, chemistry, medicin and philosophy.
My hour in the past would be enough to deliver the books to the leader of a well working civilisation (the romans did well and the greeks come to mind). With such a masiv boost in scientific and technologic advantage that nation would
1.conquer the whole planet making war absolete
2.Loose faith in their gods who look pittiful compared to the might of science,

=> I would prevent the crusades and the dark age so my time machne takes me into our present which is so evolved that no one needs to work. The only thing i would to do is pluck my brain into a machine, which is so awsome that the comparrison to a coumputer is an insult, and play games that feature reality 3.0 which is like reality only in better graphics(eys have limits) and are 101% adictiv so i will never get bored again...

I'd print out ESPN's NFL results page from this season and the results from the baseball playoffs then time-warp back to July 30, 2008 (the day before my boss at my last job fired me for my disloyalty when I asked for a transfer to another branch). First thing I'd do is hold my tongue and not get my stupid ass fired. This would be solely to set up the next four months' series of events. Needless to say, I wouldn't be taking the return trip back to the present.

Once football season kicked off, I'd enter a few pick-em contests and pick up a few parlay cards, using the old Gray's Sports Almanac trick to have the most epic gambling streak in the history of mankind. Then I'd tell that lying sack of crap ex-manager of mine where he could stick his job once I'd won a few million in the sports book and on ESPN's Streak for the Cash game. Even after I'd paid the taxes on the gambling winnings I'd be able to retire.

My life's quite good, about the only thing necessary to improve it would be a few million dollars.

EDIT: While I was back at four months ago I'd also short most of the Dow Jones components and go short on oil futures as well. Even if my brokerage restricted me to 2:1 or 3:1 leverage, that's still more money in my pocket.

Red Alert 1 is what happens when you kill Hitler. Red Alert 2 is what happens when EA kills your continuity to make more money.

Ooh is it?

OOh yeah, Red Alert 2 was about what happened after Einstein(sp?) killed Hitler.

I stand corrected

Go back in time and stop the previous Owner from Stealing the Presidential socks.
Then watch as the world falls apart from the least dramatic paradox ever conceived.

I would go back to one of Freddie Mercury's swingin' parties, then try to break the flux capacitor in the time machine to put the world into a constant state of insane drag-parties. Rock on.

I'd want to spend an hour with Theureau on a pristine day, absorbing his genius.
Er, well, not in a creppy mind-flayer way or anything. I mean listen to his thoughts. Not in a mind-readery way, either. -.-

For the people who want to kill Hitler, its debatable whether or not all the atrocities of the second world war would still have occurred anyway. There was a lot of dissent in Germany after the first world war.

Whilst there are a lot of things I would like to change in the world today, I would avoid attempting to do so with time travel, as you have no idea what possible events could occur based on one detail you changed in the past.

I would probably use my 60 minutes two fold, firstly to get me some stock in [insert now incredibly successful company here] because I'm a perpetually poor student who needs some moolah, and secondly to visit a relative I only knew when I was very young, to be able to have a decent conversation with him and find out more about him and his life.

I'd go back to myself when i was a child and traumatize myself so i dont like fatty foods anymore.

But on a more noble note; id probably try and stop various horrible events from happening, since its quite late over here im not gonna go into detail

I would go to the destruction of the Berlin Wall. I would have loved to be there for the sheer exhilaration of freeing half a population. Plus, it's a bunch of people gleefully knocking down a barrier with various implements of destruction. Who would turn that down?
My parents were actually going to go there and participate, as they were fairly nearby at the time. However, things came up, and they couldn't get there :(.

Bad Idea. Play Red Alert 1 to see why.

I think I'd do this. Or, I'd go back in time and invest all of my money very... prophetically. Then come back to the present and buy half the world. Or go far back in time with modern technology (and very importantly, the means to train minions to produce more of it), grant it only to my most loyal followers, and forcibly take half the world. I mean, who doesn't secretly want to use a machine gun on an entire medieval army. It would be like that scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark, but 100x. Maybe that's just me though.
