SciFi MMOs

I've started to grow slightly bored of EVE Online, so I thought I'd take a peek at other MMOs. However, I don't really like fantasy... at all... And quickly, to my dismay, I found that the SciFi MMO market is limited... very limited, so I was wondering, do you know of any neat SciFi MMOs on the market? The only one I can think of atm is Fallen Earth (which could be considered SciFi), tried it, didn't like it.

Please refrain from posting MMOs that are yet to be released (don't want this thread spammed with SW:ToR).

Also, I know that a lot of you don't like EVE... But please keep the EVE criticism out of this thread, it's not the point of it.

Star Wars Galaxies, maybe? Its basically a SW version of WoW.

I've seen a lot of poeple play Anarchy Online too.

There's also a MMOFPS called planetside, apparently it kinda blows now, but you could give it a shot.

I've heard that Anarchy Online is really good. It's fairly dated now, though.

Good MMOs on the market are limited. SciFi are even more limited, considering MMOs are majorly fantasy oriented. I wouldn't get your hopes up.

I remember one where you got in a car and used that to kill other cars. I think the servers shut down less than a year after it was released with promises of it coming back online letter. Never to be seen again, I reckon.

Sorry comrade. 8D If it makes you feel any better, there are a few SciFi MMOs in the works that aren't Star Wars.

They also won't be released until 2014.

Gee, well the Matrix online was taken down (looked fun I wish I played it)

and that new Star Wars KoTOR is supposed to be MMO right? or was that battlefront 3? I'm so confused.

Um, Shin Megami Tensei is a decent SciFi RPG. Fast paced battles and demon raising for the win.

Phantasy Star Universe was fun back when it was still fairly new. Not so sure now...

Star wars galaxies was fun for me, I don't now how large the community is now. I was an Imperial Stormtrooper, that way I could hum the imperial march as I did everything.

Yeah... Downloaded AO, playing it now, played it briefly a couple of years ago... Not sure what to think of it. I also played SwG back in the day, but they pretty much ruined it by releasing a patch [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/issues/issue_101/560-Blowing-Up-Galaxies] that revamped the entire game, turning it in to a WoW-clone. A shame really, because gameplay-wise it was uniqe.
