I've recently moved to a coastal town and have been tempted to buy myself a sea fishing rod. I have been looking around and noticed many sea fishing rods are telescopic instead of being in seperate pieces... ive always thought telescopic rods are not as good as seperate piece rods.

If there are any fishermen out there who can give me advice on which would be better to buy and why, it would be much appreciated :))

Just roll with a telescopic rod mate. Cant go wrong. Fit pretty much any fishing scenario, easier to store and assemble and are far sturdier than you'd think, and as such are capable of catching some absolute whoppers. Its not like having a telescopic rod instead of a 'AR' ( assembly required ) rod will make you an outcast, like...erm..eg. All your freinds bought Pokémon red and you bought Pokémon blue...Like Isaid, you cant go wrong :)

Personally, i prefer a sectional rod. They're not quite as easy to store, but on the strength side of things, the rod will stand up to more. On top of that, a collapsable rod is just more things to break or have things go wrong.

I use sectional surf casting rods for the ocean around here. I have two an 8 foot and a 10 foot rod. Both are sectional and easy to break down and store in my car, so personally, i like them a lot better than anything else ive seen.
